I really think this approach would have been great only focusing on Spidey and Blac Cat and throw in some regular street crime fighting.
In many senses I feel that Spiderman might be better off as a TV-series since its a very broad universe and I actually think the original comic book has a narrative that is really close to the ones used for tv-shows.

Rachel McAdams also denied even having any discussion for the role and it looks like Anne Hathaway is the #1 choice right now for Black Cat or any female villain that they might cast

Now: Movieline posted info coming from sources allegedly “close to the film” that John Malkovich is “circling” that male villain role. They are also claiming that the role is that of the Vulture. The Vulture is, of course, a classic Spidey villain from the Lee/Ditko era. Originally he was Adrian Toomes, an aging tech wizard who loses everything to corporate greed and creates a flying device for himself and embarks on a life of crime. Several other people have worn the Vulture costume over the years, but Malkovich would be a great match for the original Toomes. – Tyla
