Kreativ Blogger Awards
Vanessa Weinert from The MovieNess kindly honored me with the Kreativ Blogger Award. She said: “(5) Anomalous Material Movies: I have recently discovered Castor’s blog (or maybe he discovered mine) and very much like the style of it. His opinions on movies are opposite to mine quite often but I always like reading what someone very much unlike me thinks.” How sweet is that? Make sure you give her terrific blog a visit, she is studying acting at Lee Strasberg so she definitely knows a thing or two about film-making that the rest of us don’t
Thank you so much for thinking of my puny blog Vanessa!
Edit: A second nomination from Heather of Movie Mobsters: “2. Anomalous Material-Movies— Castor’s site has quickly become one of my favorite sources of movie goodness. With a ton of great topics and insightful yet unpretentious reviews, it is one of the best movie blogs on the interweb and always has the feeling of fun.” I am very flattered by your kind words. Thank you so much!
Well not bad at all, don’t you think? I guess this is a community thing and I don’t know where it all started but I guess I will play the game and let’s hope it keeps going for a little while. Receiving such an honor comes with some rules as well (7 in fact):
1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award. Check
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog. Check
3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award. Double Check
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting.
5. Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they have been nominated.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting (Yea right!)
- I graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a BS in Chemistry. If I was to do it again though, no way would I ever study anything remotely related to that. That was too much pain for no good reason. Although a college education is great in that it helps you develop critical thinking and helps you hone an analytical mind as well as other important things like writing skills, I think it’s overrated.
- I’ve always had numerous interests in all sorts of fields and always striven to be open minded and know as much as possible about as many things as possible. We only get to live life once and there is so many interesting things to know and experience.
- Money is for life experiences. I think and hope I have gotten past the materialistic stage. So far, so good!
- I hope to become a United States Marine Corps officer at some point this year. I injured my legs in training back in November 2008 and I have been working my way back ever since.
- Forgive me if you catch some spelling mistakes or oddly missing words here and there. I very much like to post what’s in my mind and then come back later to edit the text a few times. And yes, it can range from a few hours to months afterward, just to keep you on your toes lol
- I absolutely despise airplane turbulence as well as the whole taking off deal. This is weird as it seems it’s getting worse each time I travel by airplane. I just hate that feeling of falling. How do fighter pilots do it? That’s mind-boggling.
- Are you actually reading this? I guess for number 7, I will just state that I am extremely worried about the future of our country. You look back in history at how great empires and mighty civilizations declined and fell into darkness and we are repeating the exact same mistakes. Drowning in debt, excesses, wars, inept leadership and crippling corruption while the very vast majority of people stay glued to their TV set, worried about who will get kicked out of American Idol. I think I will stop here and I can always elaborate more if asked.
5-7 Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
Uh wake up!! It’s the fun part. I’m aware that some Kreativ Award recipient went out of their way to avoid nominating people who already received the award once. I’m not one of them but I tried to name first-time nominees.
- A Life in Equinox: A very good writer, an insightful blog. What more can I say?
- Cut the Crap Movie Reviews: Aiden always has some strong opinions of every single movies he sees and you always have to respect that. His blog is a daily destination for me and it should be for you too!
- Movie Mobsters: With nearly daily updates, Movie Mobsters is a blog that I try to check every day. Heather has very similar movie taste to mine so it is always comforting to seek her opinion on all things movies. Keep it up guys!
- Cool Awesome Movies: Magnum and Ventilation Shaft like to watch very odd movies sometimes
We may not always agree on how cool and awesome some movies are but they have been faithfully consistent contributors to my blog and the movie blogging community as a whole. - Cinema Romantico: Nicholas Prigge has an insightful movie blog that I can’t recommend enough. Sometimes, he says (or write) something so perfectly it is mind-boggling! I only wish more people would know about his blog and let him know how great it is.
- Flix Chatter: I only recently discovered this blog. It looks like she is a fellow Minnesotan! The picture of the skyline betrayed you Ruth! Check out her blog which has some really nice content and is updated nearly daily.
- The Film Reel: Another terrific blog that I recently discovered. I love The Film Reel because it has some nice content about movies that very few other blogs talk about.
Well, that’s it folks. I will now go delight at my own awesomeness for winning this unbelievable award.
Cheers,
Castor

Congrats, dude! You deserve it! And thanks for the nom, too! Does this mean I have to do one of these things, too?
Thank you! Yes, you are supposed to do one as well but only if you choose to
Gee, Chemistry? Ick. I only say ick because I loathed science when I was in High school [english all the way].
Hello Castor, thanks soooo much for nominating me… it’s especially cool coming from a fellow Minnesotan!! I’m not originally from here but I’ll save it for the 7-facts section when I get around to my Kreatif Blogger Awards post
He..he.. I thought I’d feature my hubby’s own photography on my blog, I really like the Stone arch Bridge, it’s just gorgeous from every angle! Thanks again for the honor and for reading my stuff!
wow thanks for the re-nom. I don’t know who started this it was handed to me by MadHatter who had it handed to him, so I think it’s really spread out and taken over a bit! You definitely earned it, a highly insightful blog.
Consider yourself nominated as well Castor! The Mob recognizes goodness!

Thanks for the shoutout and I’m pretty sure I’ll be returning the favor. There’s always tons of stuff to read here and I’m loving what I’ve seen so far.
congratulations on the award, Castor, well deserved
Castor, thanks for the nom. Much, much, much too kind. The kindness will be returned.
@ Encore: Yes, go figure. I was a misguided college student. I never really liked science ever but I was good at chemistry in high school
@ rtm: The Stone Arch Bridge is magnificent and I love the picture!
@ Univarn, The Film Reel and Dezmond: thank you!
@ Heather: You are too kind. I added your quote and link in the post
@ Nicholas: The honor is mine.
And here ya go, your name in the big bright lights of my blog. I mean, just having your name on my blog has got to get you at least 2 more readers. HAHA! Well, my blog may not be big but this fancy award I’m passing back to you is!

Thanks for the nomination Castor! Really.
However, we (Magnum and myself) will have to be kind of party-breakers because at the moment we are a bit short on time these past few days (and a little lazy, too) to do the “nominate 7 bloggers things”.
