Thanks for the link!
The piece I’m most curious about there is the Viggo Mortensen and David Cronenberg re-team. Eastern Promises wasn’t as good as A History of Violence (hint: more Ed Harris), but the two work well together.
Survival of the Dead seems to be getting bashed around like a zombie with no legs but I’m still going to check it out. I personally liked Romero’s last film and can’t wait for this one. Very weird that it goes on Xbox Live almost a month before limited theatrical run. I’m hoping I can actually get it up here in the Great White North and not have to wait another month to see it.
Allen’s films has a talented cast, but he hasn’t made anything worth watching since Match Point.
That should Allen’s film
Thanks for the shout out, Castor! I’m excited to see Viggo joining The Talking Cure (he should’ve been amongst the Best Actor noms btw), though it’d be fun to see Christoph co-starring with Michael Fassbender again. Wow, Ryan Gosling in a comedy? Is it a dark comedy? I have yet to see Lars & the Real Girl but I heard that’s a hoot. What do you think of Zach Snyder’s Legend of the Guardians trailer? Never have owls look so beguiling, love the visuals! And that TRON Legacy looks interesting, didn’t know much about it but my hubby gladly explained it to me (and showed me the trailer of the original). Wow, Jeff Bridges looked soooo young then!
I’m pretty excited about Cronenberg and Viggo teaming up again.
@ Darren: My pleasure! I also did not enjoy Eastern Promise as much as A History of Violence. Hope they fix that on their next collaboration.
@ Will: Yea, as always I hope it’s good but those horror flicks tend to disappoint these days.
@ Fitz: I haven’t seen Vicky Cristina Barcelona yet but he sure works at a fast pace.
@ Ruth:
Not much is known about that Carrell/Gosling movie but that’s definitely an intriguing combination. One thing you have to respect about Gosling is that he always tries to do new things so I hope that works out for him. Definitely see Lars and the Real Girl, it’s a terrific movie. As for the Legend of the Guardians, it looks (visually) good especially for kids. Like I told you before, I rarely ever see animations in the movie theater because they are almost always for kids and this doesn’t look different.
I think the Legend of the Guardians looked pretty promising. What shocked me about it was that they didn’t use Zach Snyder’s name at all. I figured there would at least be a “From the Director of 300″…but notta.
Hi Red, perhaps because it’s an animated feature for kids, the audience might not have seen (or allowed to) see ’300′? But it’s definitely got Zach’s signature all over it. But like Castor said, I usually don’t spend my money on animation at the theater … though I might make an exception with Toy Story 3!
Hooray! Thanks for the link!
