Movie Soundtrack of the Day: Spirited Away
This is One Summer’s Day by Joe Hisaishi. This is the main theme of Spirited Away, THE best animated movie of last decade. If you haven’t seen the movie, I don’t know what else to tell you: seriously consider stopping whatever you are doing and running to the video store. Enjoy the beautiful music!

Hayao Miyazaki is a legend! And Joe Hisaishi is a great composer. I must admit I liked the music score even more than the film itself, though.
On a sidenote, Miyazaki’s favorite of mine is definitely ‘Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro’ from 1979. Lupin III is one of my dearest animes, and it’s got a brilliant score composed by Yuji Ohno. Definitely check ‘CoC’ out if you like Miyazaki.
I love the movie, but part of the reason I’m so enamored by it is the incredible score. Absolutely Incredible.
Ahhh! Miyazaki/Hisaishi is one of my favorite director/composer pairings! (Up there with Almodovar/Iglesias, Spielberg/Williams, and Hitchcock/Hermann.)
Completely agree guys, glad you enjoyed it!
