Best Looking Gals at the Oscars
I hope everyone enjoyed my post about the worst looking gals on Oscars’ Night yesterday. Now let’s move on to the best looking ladies on Oscars’ night. Last I said previously, I thought that every actress looked at least semi-decent. No one attempted to pull off looking like an exotic bird or a cosmopolitan alien. No reports of anyone faceplanting or having a “wardrobe malfunction” either. Pretty miraculous, looking at some of those dresses. As you can see, I have never understood the fascination with really fancy and overly bold dresses. Call me boring but to me, elegant and understated is always the way to go and it’s nice to see that most of the ladies went that way on Oscar Sunday.
Cream of the Crop:

Some said it's too simple and boring. Well it's better to look like Kate Winslet rather than look like an ostrich that fell into a can of paint!

Lovely Rachel McAdams was the stunner of the night in a really simple, classy and low key way as usual. That's how it's done people!

Penelope Cruz because Jose will hunt me down and axe me if I don't mention her. The blogosphere still can't grasp the fact that you didn't rank her #1 on your list, Jose!

Yes, Kristen Stewart is on both Best and Worst Looking lists. See here, she is forcing almost a ... smile. Why so constipated? Relax and enjoy the good time, who knows how long it will last!
So what do you guys, gals think? Who were the best looking actresses at the Oscars?

Both Elizabeth Banks and Anna Kendrick were wearing my favourite Elie Saab. You wouldn’t find a better designer than him even if you looked all around the world (except maybe me
but let’s not be egocentric).
Simple and classy, ok Dez? Don’t go and make fluorescent glow-in-the-dark bird costumes, the world has enough of those!
I love Anna Kendrick’s dress, and Carey Mulligan’s is just a nice mix of cute and elegant with a tiny bit of daring what with all those little ornaments!
I must admit I made a small mistake in my previous comment. Anna and Rachel were in Elie Saab, Elizabeth was shinning in Versace
Elizabeth Banks looks so hot in everything she does (including the Oscars).
Anna Kendrick is very deliciously pretty… I really think she is the prettiest gal in that show.
I like all the dresses you picked, Anna Kendrick’s being my favorite. I also liked Demi Moore’s dress.
Carey Mulligan’s dress was great, but I don’t care for her hair cut, that is just me though.
I may be one of the few people who really liked Maggie Gyllenhaal’s dress. I also did not hate Vera Farmiga’s. On the red carpet, I prefer the risk takers.
I liked Maggies. She was lovely!
@ Melissa: Welcome and thank you for stopping by! I agree that Demi Moore looked great too although I have no idea what she was doing at the ceremony!
@ M. Carter: I thought Gyllenhaal looked ok, she was wearing more of a cocktail dress though
I totally agree about Lizzie Banks, WOW, what a stunning dress and the color looks absolutely beautiful against her alabaster skin! I LOVE gray but not a lot of people can pull it off as it often looks drab, but Banks definitely shines in this. I quite like her spunky personality, too. Oh, another one who pulled off a gray-ish dress that night was Helen Mirren (http://www.americansuperstarmag.com/sites/default/files/images/christopher-plummer-helen-mirren-030710.preview.jpg), it was all sparkly and form-fitting. She is just one classy dame! I quite like Demi Moore’s dress, too, with all those ruffles. She also pulls off a beige color that hardly works on anyone. Man, that woman is like fine wine, she just gets better with age.
Kate Winslet is always in my Top Five dressed at these things. She understands her body, her style, and has that romantic old Hollywood appeal that is simply devastating to look at. She is an incredible actress and absolutely stunning woman.
@ Ruth: Helen Mirren looked totally foxy. Most women should kill to look as good as her at her age!
@ Heather: Absolutely agree! Let’s face it, being one of the most highly acclaimed actress of her generation, she has had so much practice
I would kill to look as good as Helen Mirren as MY age! LOL
She is a classy and beautiful woman!
A few weeks after the whole thing I finally understand why Winslte looked so radiant and fresh in the last weeks of awards season. What a difference a few days make huh?
Also I won’t do anything to you if you don’t feel the urge to include Pe in your list lol.
If she’d tried a little harder she would’ve been my number one but I think the woman will never live up to last year’s majestic Balmain or that flesh colored Versace she wore when she was nominated for “Volver”. That dress has ranked best red carpet gown ever in several polls I’ve seen.
I also have a problem with Anna Kendrick’s hair.
Good list overall though!
Stewart looks bleak and uncomfortable…poor lass, vampiredom has made her callous.
