  1. Anna says:

Election or Blazing Saddles…since I saw the latter, I went with that.

Caddyshack or The Apartment…really? No contest. The Apartment, hands down.

Ghostbusters or The Hangover…saw the former; went with that.

Little Miss Sunshine or Planes, Trains and Automobiles…saw neither, but I went with the former.

  2. Will says:

Planes, Trains and Automobiles is the best! If it’s ever losing at any moment, John Candy should be able to bargain with the voters by presenting a valid argument “and a Casio” for payment.

  3. Nicholas says:

Not to be overdramatic but if “Ghostbusters” doesn’t beat “The Hangover” I’m going to do something drastic.

  4. Colleeng says:

Boy, this round was tough! I know I’m one of the few people out there that’s not totally nuts for Caddyshack. Dangerfield, excellent! Murray, talking like a dolt out of the side of mouth…pass.

  5. Ripley says:

I rue the day Election beats Blazing Saddles. Rue!

  6. Univarn says:

Whew, here we go again. Blazing Saddles hands down. Election is fun, not necessarily funny.

The Apartment because I secretly dream of morphing into Jack Lemmon, and dating Shirley MacLaine. .

Ghostbusters = legendary. The Hangover = forgotten in 10 years. Enough said.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles… because it’s funnier than Little Miss Sunshine. Darned this isn’t the Cutest Comedy Tournament!

  7. Red says:

Pretty hard day to vote, Ghostbusters vs Hangover was the toughest.

  8. Kaiderman says:

Whoever voted for the The Hangover over Ghostbusters should meet a similar fate as William Wallace. Peter Venkman is one of the greatest movie characters ever and that film is hilarious!

    • Marc says:

I agree Kai, but here’s my dilema. I personally think The Hangover is a funnier movie than Ghostbusters. Reason there being it’s more uproarious. But Ghostbusters, the classic that it is, is the better movie overall and is a much more fun “adventure” film with great amounts of humor thrown in (likened to Back to the Future which was stripped from this tourney). Oh decisions, decisions…

  9. Dan says:

It’s tough voting against some of your favourites which will inevitably happen now. Blazing Saddles is the only Mel Brooks film I’m a fan of but I love Alexander Payne films so I went with the underdog – Election.

The other tough one for me was Caddyshack against The Apartment. That’s not to say the choice was difficult. The film I want to win this thing is The Apartment – I’m rooting for it, but it’s a shame Caddyshack’s time in the tournament will now have to end.

The others – easy…Ghostbusters and Planes, Trains!!!

  10. Peter says:

Caddyshack vs. The Apartment??? You’re killing me! Looks like Ms. Sunshine’s run ends here. Thank the good Lord.

  11. rtm says:

Tough one here as there are a few I haven’t seen, but LOVE Planes, Trains, and Automobiles! Saw it with my twin brothers and we just love the banter of these odd couple.

Though I haven’t seen the latter, methinks Ghostbusters vs Hangover is such a no brainer! Having Sigourney Weaver in a comedy is a winner to me… that woman is as funny as she is bad ass!

  12. Steve says:

I’m a little freaked out that people are voting for movies they haven’t even seen. And whatever happened to Airplane!? It’s still in the running, right? If freakin’ Little Miss Sunshine can make to the semi-finals surely Airplane made it this far right?

  13. Marc says:

In the world of road trip movies, “Planes Trains” would kick the crap out of Sunshine…that gets my vote:P

  14. Dan says:

…how in the world is The Apartment now losing! :O

  15. Heather says:

Kudos to Little Miss Sunshine for making it this far. I love that flick.

Election………….Reese Witherspoon when she was cool.

  16. Marc says:

OK I really have to see Election if it’s made it this far. Perhaps I’m missing out??
