My plan for movies is to see The Town tonight (review will be up tomorrow), Thank You for Smoking and Children of Men on Saturday, and Touch of Evil on Sunday. Hopefully.

Other plans include working on reviews (a good number of them are mentioned on the left sidebar) and getting presents for my brother who turns 15 on the 20th.

Favorite movie food and beverage: popcorn and a bottle of water (I don’t drink soda)

I am currently watching through Bones the TV-series (its a really underrated Buffy Clone!), tomorrow I’ll have a meeting with the director on MekB19. We’ll talk gameplans about maybe doing the film with English as language instead of Swedish and we are also gonna watch 30 days of night which apparently has some good inspirational scenes for us.
I’ll also ty to catch up on blogging and be a litte ahead with my posts on sunday.

Movie food, probably Buffalo Wild Wings takeout and cold beer! I’m so frustrated we don’t have Buffalo Wild Wings in Sweden. That and Wendys curly fries and bell peppers are the American Food I miss the most from when I studied in Kansas.

Great that we got a open bar in the end!!!

  2. Joel Burman says:

Forgot to mention I love the new background image! Its very light and breathy.

  3. Ripley says:

My Parent has done something rather cruel to me. Not child welfare cruel, but still. Cruel.

  4. Peter says:

Off the topic of movies for a sec…Castor you got spanked in my Fantasy League. Hope you rebouund nicely in Week #2!!!

  5. amy says:

Looking forward to The Town review, and sad to say it’s been pushed for next month…. BAWWWWWW xD

  6. Colleeng says:

I’m so excited! I’m double movie-ing it tomorrow. I’m going to see Easy A and Catfish. I REFUSE to pay movie food prices so it’s whatever I sneak in. I love popcorn, but it’s so overpriced and unhealthy at the theater. Castor this new background is so soothing! You pick great background music for our open bar time.

  7. Colleeng says:

Oh and I can’t vote on the Arnie movie poll because my favorite is “The Running Man.” I always have to be different.

  8. Dan says:

I won’t be watching any films tonight as I’m camping in Northamptonshire – so I’m going to be cold and miserable and wanting to come home. You might be able to tell – I’m not a fan of camping!

…what will happen is that it’ll start to rain and I’ll go stay in the nearest hotel!

  9. Red says:

Did a double feature of Easy A and The Town last night. Even had to leave Easy A a couple minutes early to make sure I got into The Town. Easy A was actually pretty funny, and The Town was awesome. Reviews will be coming up sometime this weekend.

As far as movie food, the usual popcorn and large soda. The local theaters have been doing $3 rebates on all combos, so that helps out with the pricing a bit. Not surprised at the attempt to get more people to buy at the concessions, since a strong majoirty of the theaters in the country don’t make any profit off ticket sales (i think it’s something like 95%?), so they have to rely on the higher concessions to make money.

And speaking of open bar, Lincoln just their bar closing time changed from 1am to 2 am as of last night, so that’s been something to celebrate. What’s hilarious is that when they changed the time, they overlooked the fact that dancing still had a 1 am stopping time and wasn’t changed.

    • Castor says:

Just saw Easy A myself. It certainly was a pleasant enough movie :) Review coming up later today!

      • Colleeng says:

Hey I just saw Easy A too! My review will be up tomorrow. I also saw Catfish, but I’m not really sure how to handle that review. I don’t give away plot points anyway, but I don’t know what to do with my opinions. I talked to a group of 20 somethings coming out and they felt the same as I did. Ummm, tough call!

        • Castor says:

The trailer for Catfish really built up the mystery of the story so I can see how you could be in a bind trying to review it. Most important is: Don’t spoil it! ;)

          • Colleeng says:

Yeah, it’s tricky. I posted the review last night and I certainly didn’t give anything away. And I give everyone an out before reading it so I hope no one will be mad at me!

  10. Danny King says:

I’m going to start doing some serious work on my college applications this weekend. With regards to education, I’m a bit of a procrastinator, and I don’t want that to effect me with my apps.

  11. Manikandan says:

I gonna watch two films today. One is my mother tongue ‘Tamil’ film – Boss. Another one is ‘The world’s fastest Indian’. My favorite snacks are Popcorn and Coke. I had fever n cold and my health was really bad for last 10 days. So din’t touch with all you guys. Now I am back…How about others. Hope all are doing good. Cheers :)

  12. Ronan says:

Hi Castor, am I too late for open Bar this week? I left a message on the page for the 9th giving my suggestion for a topic for the 17th : ‘Moral responsibility in the Movies’. Check out my post on this and on Censorship in general, I’d be curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

  13. Heather says:

I would like to officially state that I miss you guys! I’ve been sick all week and getting used to this new schedule with my kids starting school, and I think I’m finally starting to find a balance in here. I’m not the best person when it comes to change.

This week I plan to see The Town for sure, and it seems like it’s getting love, though I’m not reading any reviews until I see it, I’m just reading grades and such.

I’m also going to try and get caught up on everyone’s movie pitches, I’ve been seeing Castor and Red posting them and I’m excited to start reading. Probably only a few a day, but I’ll get there!

    Anyway, happy Monday to everyone!

    • Castor says:

We really miss you too Heather!!!! It seems like a lot of people are getting sick as the weather is starting to turn :( Hopefully, you are on the fast track to a full recovery!

  14. Heather says:

Also, I can’t help but want to see Easy A too. :-)

  15. Heather says:

And one more: I love the new backround and Header. Uber sexy.
