Rodrigo Santoro for my next round, explanation later, I’ll be away.
I must have an actor with a touch of the exotic about him, and for this film, Spanish is what I need. I want Javier Bardem.

And here we go again with the long haul! Can’t wait.
Clint Eastwood
haha…thanks castor…i hope i don’t regret taking my director this early
Fresh off of a movie about sports and race, I think that actor/director Clint Eastwood would be the perfect guy to direct my film., and to play a supporting role in it. He has a knack for making very powerful movies that are very well received by the public.
Great choice! He needs to do that kind of movie right now I think.
Castor, I won’t be online for at least 12 hours, I have emailed you my next three choices in order of preference.
Andy
Thanks Andy, I got your email
Rob is off to dinner so he told me to make the pick directly and he will endorse it when he comes back.
With the 63rd pick, I select Jeremy Renner. An actor who brings a sense of wild unpredictability to his characters, Renner has suddenly arrived on the A-list with his Oscar-nominated performance in The Hurt Locker and his brilliant turn in The Town.
You bastard. You stole my antagonist
Well, glad I got him before you did. He is on the up and up!
I know how you feel. People stole jeremy renner, cillian murphy, ellen page and nat portman from me. They took my antagonist and his alternate and two supporting actresses from me!
Andrew picks David Fincher.
I’m going to take Emma Stone because she’s awesome, funny and can make even the worst of material fantastic.
Aww great pick! Totally forgot about her.
this is a great pick! I had considered her!
I chime in with the other. Great pick!
Hahaha! She is wonderful, I’m lucky that I snagged her, I was worried someone would get to her first!
Okay, I’m back. Didn’t realize the next round would start right away.
My next pick is Barbara Stanwyck from her BIG VALLEY era. It’s tempting to grab the younger version of her, but I need a matriarch character, and besides, she’s one of my all-time favorite actresses.

I’d like to go with Elle Fanning. I think she’s one of the greatest child actresses working right now (she’s not even a teenager yet! Love her sister, too).
Damnit! She was one of my essentials!
I think I got a pretty good alternative now… hopefully nobody chooses her between now and my turn, though.
oh whoops! she’s just so good!
Sarah Polley – Great actress who should make more movies. And to give a bit of my plot away she has Zombie ass-kicking pedigree.

haha oh man…zombie movies are the best to make…just sit back and let everyone draft their directors…at least 4 guys who can make a very good zombie flick will still be there
…oops…helping out the opposition! haha
I pick Ellen Page. Because she rocks. She can play older or younger. Has a blend able presence or a unique one.
And Joel, of course you didn’t try to get Page. Lacie got to pick before you did!!!
That’s true! I wasn’t aware of it when I e-mailed you about Holly I was probably blindend for a while at getting back at Lacie for picking Amy!
Aaron Eckhart- because of his ability to play the villain Two-Face. In need of someone to
possibly/believably play both sides.
Good one, T. He continues to impress me and I agree he can play both sides believably.
Holly Hunter

She’ll be playing Jesse’s mom.
Damn, good pick.
Thanks it was her Q/A during Stockholm film festival that tipped the scale between her and Jodie Foster!
well cancel that last one then Castor…didnt realize my last one had gone up. my apologies
Ahaha which one do you want? I was just going by the list you sent me
Choose wisely Spidey I might get you involved in a 3 way trade to snatch Amy from Lacie… Muahaha
LOL. i just emailed u Castor. It’s only fair to stick with my original. My apologies. Don’t worry! Thanks though.
Same deal Castor. Won’t be around for my pick, so I just sent it to you via e-mail. Cheers.
I think Ruth’s time is up…
2nd round: Sean Connery
3rd round: Famke Janssen
wow Marc! you just demolished two rounds for me with those picks!! wow! There will have to be talks of some trades…..all I can say right now is….wow.
My next pick is Montgomery Clift. A popular actor when he was alive but has now slipped into obscurity, he was one of the Method actors during his time on this earth.
My friends and I were just talking about him earlier today about his tragic accident. He’s sooo handsome!
I can’t believe it. I was planning to pick him in Round 5. Now I need to find another handsome (dead), actor for my supporting cast.
Never mind, I’m here
For my Round 3 pick, I select Neill Blomkamp as my director. I need someone who can do a sci-fi actioner in a realistic manner, and Blomkamp is one of the best.
For round three I’m continuing my collection of seasoned actors with Tommy Lee Jones. With a face like granite, Jones exudes a quiet authority and confident wisdom. Just what I’m looking for.
My 3rd pick is Danny DeVito. My second leading man is this funny little guy that seems to have lost his charm lately but he hasn’t lost it on me. Danny has a wonderful way to make people laugh. When Castor annouced this 2nd Fantasy draft, his name is the 1st one to pop in my head.
I love that picture.
In recent Solitary Man he does a great part that is not his usual comedy routine! If there is any justice in the world he’ll be nominated when it comes around Oscar time.
With the 79th pick in the draft, I select Marion Cotillard whom I subsequently trade to Andrew R. Sorry Red!
COME ON!! First Penelope, now Marion. (not to mention James AND Ben) damn, this is getting personal.
(And that smile on Marion’s face looks like she’s taunting me.)
I know how you feel. For me it was first Franco, then Fanning. And on top of that, a number of my alternates have been taken (including my alternate director), so I’m really banking than nobody takes my first choices.
I know how you feel. People stole jeremy renner, cillian murphy, ellen page and nat portman from me. They took my antagonist and his alternate and two supporting actresses from me!
I would be willing to trade Renner for the right price
Name it and I will give it 2 u
Send it to my email
a nice choice! didn’t think she’d be free for the picking for as long as she was, actually. I was hopeful, but not realistic!
Damn. I gotta find a new leading lady.
Give me Seth Rogen. I’ll explain it later. I’m at work right now.
I pick Seth Rogen because, plain and simple, you can’t have an Apatow film without him. Has good chemistry with director and leading man already, should be good fit.
I laugh in all of your faces. You’ll never choose who I have in mind. I’m being smart this time around. *evil laugh*
Don’t jinx yourself!
I believe Michael’s time is up…
Wow, that was weird… I kept refreshing and nothing new was happening. And then I post that statement, and there’s a bunch of new stuff.
Hey Novroz, would you be willing to trade Cillian Murphy to me?
I strongly doubt that’ll happen. Novroz seems to be obsessed with him. I looked at the first draft, and she said he would appear in like… every movie of hers ever.
Yea, you could offer your 10 picks, she wouldn’t give it to you ahah
Ah well, was hoping to get him as a supporting antagonist but i guess will have to settle 4 the alternate
Sorry Nicholas, both Nick and Castor are right
you can offer me all 10 of your picks, I still wouldn’t trade him.
That’s why I was trying hard to find anyone to pick him and give him to me even if I have to give 3 picks of mine in return. Big gratitude to Castor for taking that trade.
God, all these lost folks have made it difficult to choose, so I decided I’m going to go with Anthony Mackie. He has a general austerity than can be mistaken for arrogance, but he still manages to show startling emotional depth – which would be a big asset for my film.
“A general austerity…” What does that mean?
He just has this general sourness about him, a harshness or something. And then he’ll shock you with some bit of emotional poignancy.
good choice!
Red selects Joan Crawford
Wait… we already had Jack Nicholson taken! Or does it not count because it’s from an earlier time in his career? That seems a bit shifty…
Oh oups, thanks for catching that Nick. Too many things to deal with at the same time
That’s OK! That’s what I’m here for
.
Travis selects Adam Baldwin
Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin… he’s making Serenity 2 as directed by Stanley Kubrick… 2001: A Serenity Odyssey.
Sorry, sorry I was at the gym… gotta burn the calories of those yummy Christmas treats
My 3rd pick would be Charlize Theron
I need an exotic beauty who’s intelligent and has an air of mystery about her, Theron would fit the bill nicely. She’ll be sporting a darker hair instead of her usual blond locks.
Nice pick Ruth!
Thanks Castor. I’ll be sending you my 4th pick via email/Twitter just so I’m not late again.
I wanted her for a role in my film, but decided to go another direction. I am glad to see that you chose her. She is an “exotic beauty.” I’m curious to see what your are planning, especially with the other picks you have!
Third Pick. I need a young actress who can start off nice and sweet, go through terrible scenarios and remain strong, and then end up hardcore (though obviously broken). While originally an alternate, my choice of Chloe Moretz sounds better and better the more I think about it.
Tom Hanks–but as a quirky comedic character. an ode to his vintage comedies. oldies but goodies.
I think Clara’s time is up Castor
Candice Frederick is replacing Mani and has made all her picks for the first 3 rounds. Welcome to the party Candice!
1st round: Robert Downey Jr.
2nd round: Salma Hayek
3rd round: Tom Hanks
Now, Mani just contacted me as he was away so if he decides to join us by making his first 3 picks, he will be added at the end of the 4th round to keep it fair for everyone else.
Well, there’s another alternate down. I officially no longer have any set alternates for any of my choices–they’ve all been taken (along with a couple primary choices)! Let’s hope nobody chooses any of my remaining players!
I select Kate Winslet who I immediately trade to Castor for Jeremy Renner. I guess he must be making a holocast movie. *laugh track*
Since Renner is now mine (evil laugh), I’ll talk abot him. After seeing Renner in The Hurt Locker and The Town, you know he can play the bad guy (I count the Hurt Locker because he was his own antagonist) but after seeing him in The Unusuals (which they need to bring back! come on ABC!) I know he can be the witty, charming guy that a proper antagonist needs to be to smart talk his way out of situations with the protagonist and other characters. So that is why it was vital for me to get this guy for my movie (coming 2012)
My feelings are hurt and I refuse to make that trade! ahah
Yes, I confirm the trade of Jeremy Renner for Kate Winslet straight up. To be honest, I have no idea what I’m doing but Nicholas seemed hell bent on getting Renner so there
Thnx Oh so much Castor. My movie would have been 2nd rate without Renner (well no it wouldn’t but now it will be SOOO much better)
No problem!
Oh and don’t 4get to update the tracker
Updated! Let me know if you see anything missing.
Castor, I find it hilarious that all your picks are from someone else
Ahaha indeed, I have been wheeling and dealing like a mad man.
I think CS’s time is up
Hey, I’m officially back. Thanks for making those picks for me. As it turns out, I’m probably going to go in a very different direction for rounds four and five, so I’m glad I’m back to this.
Castor, CS’s time was up 20 mins ago I think it’s time to start Round 4
I concur.
Hell to the yes.
Wow wow take it easy guys lol. I was sort of hoping we would call it a night ahah
I’m prob goin out New Year’s Eve. I’d like to get this fin b4 then and I’m sure everyone else agrees
No worries, we will be
Round 8 to 10 takes only one day and are optional. But if you guys, insist I will get the 4th round ready but it will still take me a good 30 minutes.
I insist
Yeah, that’s why I liked the 15 minute thing for all those who just sit here for hours on end hitting refresh *cough*me*cough*. At least a third are emailing in and/or coming back later due to being skipped anyway.
But anywho, when are we starting back up tomorrow? If it’s too early I might have to email in or come back later due to being skipped.
(See what I did there?)
(P.S. If you couldn’t tell, this whole post was totally tongue-in-cheek.)
whatever works. tonight or tomorrow. it’s no biggie
CS selects Andrew Garfield to end the 3rd round. I will post the 4th round thread in about 30 minutes but don’t expect any updating until tomorrow morning 9AM CT. If you can keep this going overnight, if there is a few of you in a row who can keep this going, good on you but you won’t be allowed to skip anyone.
Will it still be the rule where if you missed the last round, you’ll automatically be skipped in the current round?
Yes.
I emailed you my 3rd round pick. Kathryn Hepburn. The middle-aged Hepburn from Summertime & Long Days Journey.
Oh oups sorry Clara! I received at least 300 emails today so it’s easy to forget who sent me one pretty quickly. Apologies!
No worries.
