I WANT TO SLEEEEEEEP!
Uh…Wayne Knight. He fits my purposes.
Glad to see Wayne getting picked this time aswell! He deserves the recognition!
Now that my main cast is complete, it’s time to select the person who is going to tame all of these egos. Since I’m doing a romance, I need someone experienced with directing love stories. But, it’s also a very weird romance, so I need someone with experience doing weird. The best person for this is Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

I’ve still got to select two more people before my cast is complete. I can do the other one Round 8 right Castor?
Yes
Am I allowed to pick up an actor after the 10th round since I traded away one of my round picks? As free agent or something?
Yea you can pick up people if you are short-handed, there is no need to announce those selections, just add them on your movie pitch.
Fantastic
Oh, that’s cool. I was wondering about that. I was gonna merge two characters, but I guess I don’t need to anymore.
Rob–if you’d like, I’ll take your 8th round pick and you can have both my 9th and 10th rounds.
I think I will just wait until the end and add an extra actor.
That’s cool, but the offer stands. I don’t need a 10th round selection, so that offer stands for anyone, really.
Oh, and it seems I get to be the lucky one to make pick number 200!
My leading lady… Dorothy Dandridge.

Great selection. Her career was cut short. It will be nice to see her in a really good role.
The draft has really slowed to a crawl, huh?
Seems slow as the previous drafts were moving at lightning speed!
Ahah yea, this is more like the normal pace.
The we need to go back to lightning speed!
John selects Halle Berry with his 7th round pick
Interesting that Berry is picked right after Dandridge considering she played her in a movie.
That was my reaction too!
haha, total coincidence…i sent that pick in last night…
I changed my cast a bit…Berry will be playing Cheadle’s wife, and Rosario and her yet to be revealed man will be the main character and his wife
I select Todd Haynes as my director. I like his vision. It should be a nice addition to my team.
good pick!
Andrew is about 46 minutes overtime…
Sorry, 16 minutes overtime. He’s had 46 minutes total. This is why I’m an ENGLISH teacher, people.
You should monitor the entire event…
*raises ‘Hollywood Draft 2011′ sign*
(I meant to put in there that Castor is doing a fine job himself, though… hit enter a bit too fast.)
You’re an English teacher, too? We should talk.
lol, yeah. I teach 9th and 10th grade English, though I’m going to be soon taking a theater exam to maybe start teaching that next year.
May I join the talk, since I used to be an English teacher too
Michael Pitt
great pick!
Patricia Clarkson. She’s dainty enough to fool you when she’s ripping your throat out
oh I love her. did you see Cairo Time? she was luminous in that.
Yea! I’m glad someone chose her. She is wonderful.
Carrie Anne Moss
Thus far, nobody has acknowledged the fact that I’m on time for once. Honestly…
I pick Keir Gilchrist…because he’s awesome on United States of Tara and I think he’s going to be a good son for MLP’s character.
my next pick is John Hawkes, who will either be Michael Sheen’s travel companion or his brother. haven’t quite decided yet.
Monica Bellucci – playing against type I have a great part for her.

goddess.
Ooh I almost cast her as my lead actress is part Italian. But not sure she can pull off a British accent that’s why I decided against it. Glad to hear she’ll be playing against type.
Gonna be AFK for a few hours, Castor. Just sent you my pick. Cheers
Me, too! Castor, I’ve tweeted and emailed you my pick and rationale. Thanks!
EDIT:
Rosamund Pike – I need a British young woman to play Charlize’s step sister. Rosamund has impressed me in several movies (no, not THAT Bond movie!) and she’ll be a good addition to my cast.
Lacie is kinda… 30+ minutes over.
Castor: goin to be AFK for a few hours and not sure how many more rounds we’re goin to go through so I sent you the rest of my picks via email
We’re almost to the point where, technically, Lacie, Scarlett, and Joel will be past time.
(Or something like that. Again, don’t bank on my mad math skillz.)
I don’t mean to triple-post here, but I think Castor’s cast might have rebelled and killed him for forcing them to participate in a Troll 2 remake.
Totally love that you keep track of everyone in here… =)
By my count, we should be about to move on to Amy, who hasn’t (from what I recall) made a pick since round 2.
Give Castor a break if that’s what you are implying, the guy has to live IRL aswell. Watch a movie or something and it will all come together! Relax a notch =)
No no, that’s not what I meant at all.
By the way Nick you are my first leader board contender for months I welcome the challenge! Muahah
I sent in my pick for round 7 to Castor earlier today but here it goes!
Sharon Stone

She will brought in to play the head of Police in Sweden.
I think we have officially reached the point of stagnation/burnout.
I am ready with my next pick, but as you can see…I am next to last on round 7.
I am back! Leonardo had another meltdown after learning that he was drafted to star in the Troll 2 remake. I had to go get him out of jail.
I knew it!
My director will be Otto Preminger. He was known for introducing touchy subjects to movies (think of him as the Golden Age version of Oliver Stone), making him the ideal candidate for my movie.
Love Preminger! Anatomy of a Murder goes places other films didn’t, especially back when it was filmed.
My second choice for director. No lie.
For my seventh pick, I’ll take Cate Blanchett, because, she’s Cate Blanchett… and she was Galadriel!
Oh what a lovely pic, Cate is so darn photogenic and I love her style. Great pick Sebastian, I picked her pretty early on in my first draft.
I apologize for my absence at the time of my pick. Here we go…
Team ScarletSp1der welcomes Sally Field- to fill the role of a lady attracted to power, but that has fallen victim to the vices around her over time.

For my seventh pick I’m going for Willem Dafoe, who’s always good value. I need that amiable mania.
With 195th pick, Team Castor selects Barry Pepper, one of the most underrated working actor in Hollywood.
Barry Pepper is such an amazing actor. great pick.
I agree Marya. It’s too bad he is not getting better roles!
Michael select Zoe Saldana
Ok I’m going to the gym for a couple hours. Make your picks when you see fit. The supplemental draft will take place tomorrow and Saturday. It’s optional, first-come, first-serve so you won’t have to refresh your page nearly as much lol.
Working again tomorrow so won’t have much of a chance to post. You should have my email with my final three choices.
Thanks Andy!
I believe it is now Red’s turn.
Abbie Cornish, I decided I’d not use Carey Mulligan again and go for Abbie instead. She has just the right amount of grace for the role I want her in.
loved her in Bright Star
OMG Me too. Would have been my favorite performance from last year had it not been for Tilda Swinton.
Travis is up!
By time standards, I’m up!
Only one director immediately sprang to mind for this project. I need someone who can do paranoia and claustrophobia, someone who can give us incredibly flawed characters and make us love some but hate others. This director has to have a knack for pulling off disturbing situations. And then, of course, open endings. Through films like Cube, Cypher, and Splice, Vincenzo Natali has proven his mastery at all of this.

Ok I didnt realize castor was gone. My choice is david wenham
So that’s who that guy is!
Best known as Faramir.
ahaha indeed
loooove him
I think CS is up by now… so pretty much anybody who hasn’t responded yet can go for this round.
Red selects Helena Bonham Carter
Nicholas selects Mark Wahlberg
“”For my next pick, I need someone who can be tough, serious and a little bit not by the book. He will be Sean Penn’s best friend in this movie. Please welcome the new member of Team Nicholas Robinson…Mark Wahlberg (affectionately called Marky Mark)”
CS selects Robert Kayinsky
My choice is Bill Pullman. I need someone who can play the supporting role of the under appreciated brother.
Now I only have one small but important male role to cast. I need a pretty boy who can act. Any suggestions?
I don’t think anyone took Casey Affleck.
I want to use a classic actor. I want to mix up my cast with living and dead actors. No this isn’t a zombie movie.
So how exactly will the supplemental rounds go?
Tomorrow morning, I will open the post for the supplemental draft (8th, 9th, and 10th round). The 8th round will open and you can make picks on a first-come, first-serve basis. Then a bit later in the day, I will open the 9th round and you will be able to make your 9th round pick on a first come, first serve basis. Then again later, the 10th round…
This prevents people from picking 3 people right away but at the same time, you don’t have to wait forever for your turn to pick.
I haven’t even picked a freakin’ director. Yikes.
ahaha me too… I still need to get rid of Carey Mulligan! Are you sure you don’t need her?
I wanted her terribly, but replacing Mackie would have meant replacing Bening, and if I replaced Bening then I wouldn’t need Carey. So, ummm. Yeah, I’m sure.
You are me forcing to kill off Carey Mulligan early in my movie. Heinous!
I am thinking of changing directors, Scorcese is proving difficult to work with and Hepburn may walk off the set before we go into production.
Cap, quick question, any idea roughly on the time the rounds will begin??
9PM Central time for the 8th round. Probably 1PM for the 9th round and 5PM for the 10th round. The rounds will not closed until Sunday so don’t worry if you can’t make your picks.
ten4. thanks. i will be ready.
