Watch: Red Band Trailer for “Conan The Barbarian”

Conan the BarbarianA red-band trailer for director Marcus Nispel’s remake of Conan the Barbarian has made its way online (via IGN). Aside from the terrible alt-rock music, it’s a nicely cut trailer with a pretty badass vibe. There is a lot of good looking bloody action and Jason Momoa even gets to actually talk a little bit.

The film stars Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Ron Perlman, Stephen Lang, and Rose McGowan. Conan the Barbarian arrives in theaters on August 19th.

Check it out below and let us know what you think.

A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

Yes I can do without the alternative rocking soundtrack, but overall am more impressed by this trailer than the initial one. I’m glad to see this is getting an R rating because the immature fantasy fan in me desperately needs blood and boobs. Crom!…..after almost thirty years….grant me a decent Conan movie….and if you do not listen…than da hell wit you!

Yes, it’s definitely a much better trailer. I like that it doesn’t try to make itself seem to be more than what it is. People who are going to see this know exactly what they are going to get: brutish and (hopefully) entertaining action sequences, a little eye candy in Rachel Nichols and a barney-style story that has Conan grunt and look badass.

  2. It is a better trailer. I like the blood and gore. I’m still not going to see it. Plus, that music is fucking awful. I blame bands like Crud and Nickelturd for spawning this crap.

Game of Thrones makes me want to see this more by virtue of Momoa’s presence; he’s pretty great as Khal Drogo, who himself is in the same wheelhouse as Conan. Similarities tell me that there might be at least one good thing in the film to make it worth watching, but I remain cautious.

Glad it’s R rated, was afraid it’s going to be another PG-13 crap. A little too much CGI for my taste but I might give it a rent. The original is still one of the best Arnold’s flicks.

Conan The Destroyer was one of my guilty pleasures growing up so yeah, I guess I’d agree it’s one of Arnie’s best flicks apart from Terminator.

Ha ha yeah, it’s funny for the sequel Conan The Destroyer, the studio decided to make it into a PG rated movie. I still like it but the first Conan is my favorite.

  5. …I guess i’m the only one that doesn’t hate the music

And i will probably see those on dvd, unless if i can get a discounted ticket for it like i did with Super 8(A local theater that is in walking distance of my house has a special on Tuesday nights where tickets are only 3 dollars)

Whoa…I really love the way he cuts those people!!! a must watch movie!! Bloody and gory, something I haven’t seen in a while (the last was Ninja Assassin and the story was terrible…tho I enjoy the blood effect a lot)

  7. Leather UK says:

Director Marcus Nispel is undoubtedly the long-lost offspring of trash master and fellow German, Uwe Boll, as this film is so profoundly awful on every level that it’s hard to think that it wasn’t intentionally made this way.
