New Promo Art for “The Avengers”
In anticipation of The Avengers movie, Marvel has released a new piece of promotional artwork for their upcoming series of comics entitled The Road to The Avengers (via Bleeding Cool) which are made up of movie continuity stories for Iron Man, Captain America and the other members of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nothing really spectacular but we will munch on that rather than fuzzy set pictures.
Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Tom Hiddleston, The Avengers is helmed by Joss Whedon and will open in 3D on May 4th, 2012.
Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” and “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s The Avengers” is the super hero team up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster.

I’m most interested in seeing how they handle The Hulk, since no one seems to know how to do him cinematic justice. Maybe he just doesn’t work on screen. I honestly do like Ang Lee’s film to a degree and appreciate the ambition they took in re-writing Bruce’s father, but Bruce was flat and the last 20 minutes were a let down. The Ed Norton Hulk was just Michael Bay-style action romp.
Valid point about the Hulk.
The Ed Norton Hulk was pretty entertaining I thought. Certainly very blockbuster-like when compared to Ang Lee’s version but nothing wrong with that.
Look like fan art, to me. LOL.
Anyways, seeing all of the characters in a group together only reminds me how many chicks they’ve left off the team. Where’s Wasp? Where’s the Scarlet Witch?
Gawd!
Aahah yea, pretty amateurish looking IMO.
You know I feel most sorry for Jeremy Renner. His character has had no build up….
What do you mean? He did have 3 lines and about 15 seconds in Thor!
