  1. I think it is safe to say that, bar Joss Whedon accidentally falling into a coma and the directorial helm of this film being passed over to Joel Schumacher, that ‘The Avengers’ will be nothing short of wall-to-wall comic-book goodiness! Also, once again, Downey Jr. steals the limelight with every one of his witty, one-liners in that trailer.

  2. Seveo says:

Hello Michael Bay!!… What do you mean it’s not him?

    • Ben Cooper says:

Hahahaha… It has to have an high explosion to word ratio with a low injury to death ratio to be a Bay film… maybe people die and say some stuff before they do in this film. Maybe Joss Whedon is throwing his hat into the ring for biggest onscreen explosion… for ages its just been Bay and Nolan slogging it out, it’d be good to see someone else in this puerile but entertaining pissing contest

      • Castor says:

Well all those shots of people looking up or shooting at elevated target and explosions in the streets certainly remind of the latest Michael Bay efforts.

  3. Sarah says:

It would have been much better without that terrible song. I’m a bit disappointed

  4. TeamEdward87 says:

this is embarrassingly bad, everything looks so sleek and shiny

  5. Red says:

    Me likely. Me want more.

  6. Nikhat says:

I know I was going to skip all promotional stuff for this film, BUT THIS TRAILER WAS JUST F-ING AHMAZING!! I need to see this…so much.

  7. Green Machine says:

Looks good to me. The marketing war with The Dark Knight Rises is going to be awesome for fans………

    • Ben Cooper says:

Agreed, The DKR will win… only due to the success of Dark Knight though, but it’ll be fun to see Marvel and DC (with the financial backing of Hollywood) slogging it out once again in the public arena

  8. Rich says:

ScarJo makes a great Emma Peel, but I dunno if I buy RDJ as John Steed. :-p

  9. le0pard13 says:

Yes, I’m definitely up for this one… and curious where Whedon will take it. Thanks for the trailer sneak.

  10. Looks awesome. I can see how this trailer would remind people of Michael bay, but i have faith in Whedon that he won’t make it all about explosions(Although i will admit i found the first Transformers movie decent…but thats about it)

And does Black Widow have a thing for the crotch grab technique? She used it in the iron man movie, and it looks like she is using it again in this one

  11. Dan says:

Oh dear. Looks like the hundred other comic book adaptations we’ve had in recent years.

  12. Momo says:

I guess I’m not too familiar with these characters but who is ScarJo supposed to be playing? She certainly has the Zoolander look down. Maybe it’s her character trait to be so serious but I find it cheesy that her expression just doesn’t change whether she is talking to someone, escaping an explosion, or shooting at people.

  13. Ted S. says:

Looks cool, I hope the fight scene between The Hulk and Thor will be as epic as Joss Whedon promised.

    • Castor says:

I thought they were on the same team!?

      • Ted S. says:

Whedon said in an interview he wrote a scene in the script where Hulk and Thor went mano a mano, apparently at one point The Hulk was supposed to be the main villain in the film but they decided to make him part of the team. But I assume he wanted to include the fight just for the fans of the comics, also I saw the cartoon version where Thor, Iron Man and Hulk were in a fight.

  14. Looks good. The effects work looks outstanding, which is nice.

My only complaint, and I didnt realize it until now, is why go with Loki as the bad guy? Who are they going to actually fight? Is he going to mind control some people or trick the avengers into fighting each other or something?

Should have gone with the skrulls or hydra so there could have been much henchman ass to kick.

  15. It’s an alright trailer though the highlight for me is NIN. Don’t be dissing my NIN or I’m going to go GATOR on yo’ punk-asses!

  16. super excited to see this come to the big screen. The trailer is fantastic and nice to see a little bit of the Hulk!

    The Avengers! woohoo!!

  17. Kevyn Knox says:

Is it just me, or does Robert Downey Jr. make everything just a bit cooler?

  18. Stevee says:

Yeah boy. Trailer or no trailer, I’m more excited to see this movie than any other 16 year old girl on this planet!

  19. Andrew says:

Looks decent, though I suspect there will be stuff added into some of the footage we see here– I feel like something’s missing from the opening shots of the streets exploding.

The film’s big faux-pas at present appears to be Tony Stark coining the team name, or at least working it into the dialogue; it’s the kind of line that frothing Whedon fanatics will defend to their dying breath despite how utterly idiotic it is. Great, Tony, thanks, I’m glad to know that while scavenging dogs tear scraps of flesh off my charred corpse, you’ll be making up for failing to defend us all with your orgy of superheroes by avenging us. What a consolation. Dick.

Other than that…yeah, I suppose I’m excited. I’m curious to see more Hulk, but I imagine we’ll be treated to that in the full trailer when enough of the movie is in the can.
