First Trailer for “Wanderlust” Starring Paul Rudd, Jennifer Aniston

Universal has released the first trailer for David Wain‘s Wanderlust, a comedy starring Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston. The story centers on New York City couple George and Linda who are forced to relocate to Atlanta when George is downsized out of his job. Once there, the two stumble upon Elysium, a peculiar community populated by colorful characters who embrace a much simpler way of  life.

This doesn’t look too bad for what it is. Paul Rudd is always fun to watch and Aniston can usually hold her own (meaning play herself) in this kind of comedy. Keep in mind that Wain is the director behind the hilarious Role Models so this could definitely have some potential. The cast includes Justin Theroux, Ray Liotta, Lauren Ambrose, Kathryn Hahn, Alan Alda and Nick’s crush of the moment Malin Akerman.

Check out the trailer below or click over to Yahoo! Movies to see it in HD. Wanderlust opens February 24, 2012.

George and Linda are an overextended, stressed out Manhattan couple. After George is downsized out of his job, they find themselves with only one option: to move in with George’s awful brother in Atlanta.

On the way there, George and Linda stumble upon Elysium, an idyllic community populated by colorful characters who embrace a different way of looking at things. Money? It can’t buy happiness. Careers? Who needs them? Clothes? Only if you want them.

Is Elysium the fresh start George and Linda need? Or will the change of perspective cause more problems than it solves?

  1. It looks OK though the part where Aniston is tripping on acid is hilarious.

  2. Momo says:

Any other Friends fan find it weird that Rachel is with Pheebs’s husband?

  3. he only shining moment in this trailer i notice is lauren ambrose. she really needs to get more shine, in better movies.

  4. Dan O. says:

Looks like Rudd and Aniston will probably work well together and hopefully this is a lot like Role Models and keeps piling on the hilarity.

  5. rtm says:

Didn’t they do a movie together before?? In any case, yeah Aniston will again play herself here, same hair, same exact expression.

  6. Nick Prigge says:

“If you’re gonna get literal with an R. Kelly song…”

As someone who ocassionally feels those wanderlust pangs I hope they do this idea justice. It kinda looks like a wackier “Lost In America.”

  7. If I watch this one, I’m sure to forget about it in a couple of days. (that’s a big IF)
