New Look at David Cronenberg’s ‘Cosmopolis’ with Robert Pattinson
With David Cronenberg’s new film A Dangerous Method, starring Viggo Mortensen and Michael Fassbender, yet to hit movie theaters, we are already getting a new look at his next movie (via Bleeding Cool). Set during a 24-hour period, Cosmopolis stars Robert Pattinson as Eric Packer, a 28-year-old newlywed billionaire who manages to lose all of his fortune as well as his bride in the span of one day.
So far, I have yet to see Robert Pattinson in a movie outside of the Twilight franchise and to be fair, I’m willing to give the guy a blank slate when I do. This film, adapted from Don DeLillo’s novel of the same name, has a very intriguing premise and the supporting cast is quite impressive, including Sarah Gadon, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, and Mathieu Amalric.
Check out the pictures below. Cosmopolis has no release date as of yet but expect it to hit theaters sometime next year.

I’m also willing to give Pattinson a chance
good!
Pattinson is laughable in the Twilight movies but Cronenberg must have chosen him for a reason and I trust him that this is going to be another excellent film.
Exactly my thoughts!
I’ve only seen him in the first Twilight and Remember Me. I think he’s a capable enough actor, I’m curious how he’d pull off this role.
Yea I remember you liking Remember Me, which I still have to see.
If you do, don’t read any reviews. I went in sort of blindly and the ending threw me out of left field!
Cronenberg and Giamatti’s involvement is good enough for me. I’ve never seen Pattinson in anything so he has a clean slate.
Yea it’s a really solid supporting cast so Pattinson certainly has no excuse this time around.
Other than the “Twilight” films and the other films I’ve seen from him. I’m not impressed though I thought he was OK in “Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire”.
Still, I’ll give him a shot.
After all, I think he could do more than be a pretty face. Besides, the news of a Gus Van Sant film starring Taylor Lautner just hurts me. I love Van Sant but there’s no fucking way I want to see that.
Taylor Lautner must have some compromising pictures of someone high up in Hollywood lol
I, too, am curious about this one. and, Castor, you remind me to make sure I give him a clean slate of a shot. I don’t care for Patterson, but I haven’t seen him in anything other than Twilight too.
Ahah well glad I reminded you of that
Pattinson for me, is sort of like Keanu Reeves in the sense that he is mostly expressionless, but still can act. I thought his efforts other than Twilight were decent, especially in Remember Me. This looks cool. Besides Rob in suits trumps sparkly Rob everytime
Although in that second picture, he abnormally pale as if he is about to sparkle
I wanna be as forgiving as you Castor. But look at his stupid face…. it must hurt to be so broody
This actually looks like it will be an excellent film.
Hi, Castor and company:
I’m more than willing to give ‘Cosmopolis’ a shot. Solely for David Cronenberg being behind the cameras.
Robert Pattinson strikes me as the epitome of an empty headed Hollywood Pretty Boy.
Maybe those qualities are part and parcel of his upcoming character. Or Cronenberg sees something there that I don’t.
Why would you assume that he’s empty-headed?
I admit to being intrigued by this one. The story sounds interesting and Cronenberg is always great. Pattinson has the potential to have a big year next year with this, Bel Ami and the Twilight finale all coming out.
