Screen Gems has debuted a new trailer for Michael Sucsy’s romantic tearjerker The Vow (via MTV’s Hollywood Crush). Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum star as Paige and Leo, a recently married couple whose lives are devastated by a
funny tragic car accident. When Paige loses all memory of her relationship with her husband, Leo vows to do whatever it takes to make her fall in love with him all over again.
While this totally sounds and looks like a Nicholas Spark adaptation, the film is actually based on the true story of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter. Following a car accident just ten weeks after their 1993 wedding, Krickitt lost all memories of the previous 18 months of her life, including her husband.
This preview is fairly similar to the first one and overall it looks like you could do worse as far as date movies go if you are into this. If you find romantic tearjerkers to be disgustingly manipulative and melodramatic, then you will probably despise this no matter what.
The Vow will hit theaters just in time for Valentine’s Day 2012. Check out the trailer below
