Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel Ask: “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?”
Darling duo Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt melted many hearts with their indie romance (500) Days of Summer and now they are doing it again! Sort of, the two actors teamed up for an adorable cover version of jazz singer Nancy Wilson’s classic “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?”
Deschanel, who is well known for her musical talents from her band She & Him, posted the video on her website HelloGiggles, and wrote:
“I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called Manic, where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since.
When we did ’500 Days of Summer’ 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and makeup trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he’s simply the best. But in the meantime, we made a little New Year’s duet for all of you! The original by Nancy Wilson. ENJOY! Deschanel currently stars in the Fox sitcom New Girl and Gordon-Levitt, who will be featured in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Night Rises and Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln.

I saw this in the morning, and absolutely loved it. It’s soo going in my blog’s playlist. How adorable are these two? Maybe I should try and sneak in (500) Days for my movie watching for tomorrow.

I saw this too this morning. Such a cute duo. A nice collaboration after their dance in ‘Why Do You Let Me Stay Here’. A living proof that the chemistry in 500 days of summer is real.

I could watch this on repeat forever. So excited when they both tweeted that there was going to be a little surprise and this is perfect! They are both beyond adorable, JGL in the manly way. So glad that there’s some weekly Zooey on TV with New Girl – love her in it! JGL’s just awesome.
I have made some weak attempts of checking out “New Girl” but haven’t really been able to get into it. Glad you like the show though!
JGL did all of the heavy lifting in their on-screen pairing in (500) Days of Summer, so I’d pretty much only be watching this for him. And if I’m watching something just for JGL, I’d rather watch a JGL movie instead. In short, skip for me. Maybe that makes me a bad person.
I just watched this a minute ago, Gordon-Levitt is so freakishly talented! Not too crazy about Zooey but she has a nice voice, I give her that.
These two are adorable together. Now I want to go rewatch 500 Days Of Summer!
