Must Watch: First Teaser for Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’

20th Century Fox has finally released a 64-second teaser for Ridley Scott’s sci-fi film Prometheus, starring Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, and Guy Pearce. The story, written by Damon Lindelof, Jon Spaihts & Scott, centers around a team of explorers who discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

The tone of the trailer is very reminiscent of the Alien movies and suggest that we are going to see the type of thrilling, large-scale science-fiction film we haven’t experienced since then. While this preview is only about a minute long and doesn’t shed any light on the plot, it looks extremely promising. Wow, what a week of trailers!

Epic! I like that it has an horror movie feel to it. I can’t wait for next summer.

  2. Megan says:

Too much of a teaser for me. We don’t even get a look of the actors for more than 2 seconds!

  3. Scott Lawlor says:

I am liking there look of that one!!

    Not an alien prequel? Really?

  4. Seveo says:

This looks beautiful and much bigger scale than I expected. The Inception-like music in trailers is getting old though.

  5. I wasn’t all that amazed by it myself. I agree with Megan on it feeling too much like a teaser

  6. Mike S. says:

I’m beyond excited for this film! Alien is among my favorite of all time (and better than Aliens…) and so seeing this sort of prequel coming to life is indescribable. This is going to be incredible.

  7. Andrew says:

I would be more excited about this if Ridley and his band of merry men and women would just shut the damn up about the whole “Alien DNA” thing already. Look, it’s a frigging Alien prequel, okay? You all can stop lying to us.

All that aside this looks very promising, though all I can hear in between random screams is “INCEPTION INCEPTION INCEPTION INCEPTION”.

  8. I got nothing. It’s got a cool look and such and I like the cast. I’m iffy about it though. I’ll wait when the full trailer comes out and maybe make a consideration about seeing it.

  9. iluvcinema says:

I am looking forward to it. Me and my brothers have been waiting years for this …

  10. Xeno says:

Fucking brilliant! Forget about TDKR and the hobbit, this is the movie to be excited about next year.

  11. Gibbs says:

Wow, is this the much awaited return to form from Ridley Scott? I hope the script is just as good as these impressive visuals.

  12. Looks excellent. Well the teaser was lame, but the premise and potential for this film has me excited.

  13. Ted S. says:

After Alien Resurrection and two awful Alien vs. Predator films, I didn’t expect much from this “prequel”. The trailer looks great and I hope Sir Ridley Scott can make me enjoy his film again, his couple of films were quite terrible in my opinion.

    • Castor says:

Yea I really didn’t expect much either so this is a pleasant surprise. I really hope this is going to be an awesome blend of horror and science fiction. God knows we haven’t had a great one in a really long time.

  14. ruth says:

I actually haven’t seen this yet… too many new trailers this week my head’s spinning. I’ll probably watch it tonight, I really like the cast in this one and Ridley certainly knows his way around alien-themed sci-fi.

  15. Dan says:

I keep watching this trailer and can’t help it. It looks great and I can’t wait to see it. As a huge fan of the Alien films, and of Ridley Scott’s original film, I love the obvious references to his 70s classic. I’m sure this will live up to expectation because Scott is such a perfectionist.
