Watch: Trailer for Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Lockout’ with Guy Pearce
Produced by Luc Besson, sci-fi thriller Lockout stars Guy Pearce, a wrongly-accused convict who is offered freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by rioting inmates.
The trailer doesn’t look too bad although it mostly consists of Pearce trading wisecracks while getting the snot punched out of him. We do get glimpses of the sci-fi elements but they sort of look like B-movie fare so I’m not sure what to think of this preview. The script was written by Besson and co-directors James Mather and Stephen St. Leger so I would expect the usual action/adventure with sci-fi twist that we have become accustomed with Besson.
FilmDistrict will bring Lockout to theaters on April 20th, 2012. Check out the trailer below [via FirstShowing]:

While Guy Pierce is kind of awesome, this movie doesn’t look that good to me. It will probably be decent, but not much more
I kind of agree w/ Julian. Guy Pearce has a good on-screen charisma but the film itself, I’m not sure.
Yea it’s probably a rental for me. It looks decent in that B-movie kind of way
The first 30 seconds of the trailer sold me despite the pretty bad SFX at the end of the trailer.
Let’s hope they are finished for FX for release
I don’t know. Looks like a pretty low budget SFX to me.
As for the trailer, I am not really a Luc Besson fan nowadays … the last film of his I liked was Leon: the Professional.
Ditto!
Doesn’t look very good although I can watch Guy Pearce do an entire movie of just him bad-mouthing and being punched and just taking it. He’s awesome.
The rare Guy Pearce-starring movie deserves a little leniency
I’ll watch it. But, then again, I’m a Guy Pearce stalwart… and of people being hit in the face.
.
Hope it doesn’t disappoint you
Yeesh. That looks like a high end SyFy channel picture.
Ahaha good description
