Watch: Trailer for ‘The Dictator’ with Sacha Baron Cohen

Paramount has debuted the first trailer for Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest outrageous comedy The Dictator. Inspired by Saddam Hussein’s best selling novel “Zabibah and The King”, Cohen plays a ruthless despot who risks “his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.” The film also stars Ben Kingsley, Anna Faris, Megan Fox and John C. Reilly.
Personally, I absolutely despised Bruno (2009) so I’m certainly hoping Cohen bounces back in a big way with this. While the trailer doesn’t show all that much, it certainly looks like it could be hilarious with Megan Fox dissing on the Kardashians and Cohen channeling his inner Borat to outrageous results once again.
Check out the trailer below via Moviefone. The Dictator opens May 11, 2012.

Hmm…not sure about this…I really enjoyed Borat but if all the funny bits are in the trailer then this film isn’t very funny!
Ahaha let’s hope there is a lot more funny than this
Bad trailer. And the Kardashian joke will be completely outdated in a year’s time. It might still be worth seeing because of Sacha Baron Cohen…
Yea the trailer really doesn’t seem to show much at all.
Ok, that scene him running in the race with a gun. That’s funny.
Same here, I thought this isn’t going anywhere good until that scene, which is exactly what I want to see in the film. I don’t want to see Cohen playing a dictator who just spouts pop culture references, I want to see him abusing his power as any true dictator does!
Ahah yea, let’s hope there is a lot more like that.
I like Cohen, but this trailer wasn’t very funny. I’m sure I will watch the movie anyway though.
Yea I didn’t really laugh but I expect better, more outrageous trailers will be released down the road
Cohen is such an interesting case to me. He’s a really talented, creative guy… who puts out movies like this one, with Sandleresque-inducing groans. Still, I’m sure I’ll see it. The trailer does not look good.
Feels like a Sandler movie to me. Filtering Kardashian jokes through Megan Fox? Shudder.
