Watch: Trailer for “The Lucky One” with Zac Efron

Major cheese factor alert! Warner Bros. has debuted the first trailer and poster for the Nicholas Sparks romantic drama The Lucky One. Directed by Scott Hicks and starring Zac Efron, the story centers on Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron), a US Marine who finds a photograph of an unknown woman (Taylor Schilling) in Iraq and credits it for saving his life in combat. He vows to find her once he returns to America and eventually does nothing less than stalk her while taking a job at her family-run local kennel. What a creep.

The trailer is exactly what you would expect from a lowly Sparks adaptation, complete with super cheesy lines, melodramatic acting and a song by The Fray blaring at you throughout the preview. This totally looks like a TV ad for a Lifetime Channel movie. Best of all, you will see the entire movie in 2 minutes!

Check out the trailer and poster below or click over to Apple to it watch in HD. The Lucky One opens April 20th, 2012.

U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Zac Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive-a photograph he found of a woman he doesn’t even know. Learning her name is Beth (Taylor Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

Well at least, if anyone asks you if you saw this movie, you can tell them yes just from seeing this trailer.

  2. Green Machine says:

Zac Effron as a Marine sergeant?? I will have seen it all… This makes me want to puke!

  3. Sarah says:

Zac Effron is all grown up… What’s with all the muscle suddenly? ^^

  4. Efron was actually pretty good in me & Orson Wells so i wouldn’t mind seeing him in something interesting. This however is not that

  5. I almost watched it until I realized that it’s from Nicholas Spark. What a shit writer.

  6. Scott says:

Come on, Zac Efron is Cool…. Right?

  7. Momo says:

Holy smoke that was cheesy. And that guy can’t do emotional acting. Horrendous.

  8. Kristin says:

Lol. Love the summary, Castor. I think Zac Efron is a cutie, but I don’t know if that’s enough to make me brave this film. I have a thing for Nicholas Sparks adaptations . . . HATE them! (Exception: A Walk to Remember)

  9. ruth says:

Hmmm, Sparks AND Zac Efron?? I don’t think I can handle so much cheese in one movie, Castor. Sorry, I’ll pass. As you know, I’m not even that bawled over by The Notebook!

  10. Nick Prigge says:

I just saw this trailer at a movie with the trailer for “The Vow” right after and it made me realize that “The Vow” really comes across like a Nicholas Sparks novel adaptation. How did he not write that?

    • Castor says:

Ahaha really? One doesn’t need to see this trailer to realize The Vow totally looks like a Sparks adaptation ;) I guess there is a formula for cutting all these romantic dramas trailers.

  11. Gunther says:

The only question left to be answered… Who dies at the end?

  12. Aziza says:

Is this really a story from the same guy who wrote Notebook and A walk to remember(cheesy romantic girls movies, but I still like them)? God, this looks awful!
