Battle of the Snow Whites: New Look at K-Stew in ‘Snow White And The Huntsman’; ‘Mirror Mirror’ Pushed Back
Universal and Relativity continue their tug of war over their respective adaptations of the Snow White tale. First of all, Relativity has pushed the release date for Tarsem Singh’s Mirror Mirror back two weeks from March 16th to March 30th. No explanation was given for the move but the movie will now open against Wrath of the Titans and The Pirates! Band of Misfits rather than 21 Jump Street which is already garnering positive word of mouth from advance screenings.
Mirror Mirror, starring Lily Collins and Julia Roberts, didn’t exactly get off to a great marketing start with a borderline farcical trailer getting mostly negative reactions (from what I’ve seen across the internet). Compare that to the marketing campaign for Snow White and the Huntsman with Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron, which featured a surprisingly compelling theatrical trailer.
Now, a new image of Stewart has appeared on the movie’s official Facebook page and while I don’t really understand the point of releasing a close-up of her face, it’s still a nice reminder that she is actually in the movie and looking really pretty to boot. After all, It almost felt like Charlize Theron’s Evil Queen had been stealing all of the spotlight so far. Snow White And The Huntsman will arrive in theater on June 1st.

What’s with all the release dates reshuffling?! The Raven that I posted today also being pushed back a month. In any case, I don’t know what that photo of K-Stew is supposed to do. I’m still not crazy about her casting, though the trailer does look very good because of Charlize.
Oh look, K-Stew acting all emo again!!!
It’s not uncommon since it’s early in the year and studio are figuring out what they really have on their slate.
I’m watching both regardless.
Mirror Mirror has the better Snow White. But Huntsmen has the better queen.
Ahah I don’t hate K-Stew enough to say she is worse than Lily Collins!
Hey, look, an image of Kristen Stewart staring blankly.
I gotta say, Mirror Mirror being pushed back can’t mean good things about the film; seems to me that the studio feels more confident that it can beat a blockbuster sequel over a TV-to-film adaptation of a decades-old TV show starring Jonah Hill (who has no consistent box office drawing power) and Channing Tatum.
She looks like she is on dope with one eye half-closed
still looking forward to Snow White and the Huntsman more!
yes…even with K. Stewart!
At this point I’m glad they are both coming out in March, because the dueling strategies of releasing a still picture a day are getting to be a bit much for me.
Somehow, I think that these two are going to end up canceling each other out. The idea that I’ll go see two Snow White films in the same month is nuts, and so unless one really gets rave reviews that dwarf (HA) the other one, I could easily end up skipping both.
Like many others I will watch Snow White and the Huntsman only for Charlize but if the movie ends up making a decent box office, they’ll say KStew put twihards butts in seats and that’s wrong on many levels. The worst part of it is they’ll make a sequel and we’ll get to see more of her blank Emo stares. It’s a scary thought.
I don’t want to contribute to this and might be better off waiting for DVD.
