The Oscars: The People’s Choice Infographic
Way to Blue has sent us another one of their always-insightful infographics, showing which Best Picture-nominated movie Twitter users most want to win this year and which films are most buzzed about:
- Midnight in Paris has the most vocal of fans with 19.2% of its total tweets in the past week expressing supporting sentiment for it to win at this year’s Oscars.
- The Artist dominates the share of tweets with 27%, which isn’t surprising since the movie is widely expected to win the Oscar.
- Interestingly, Hugo has the least support among all 9 nominated films, trailing even the poorly reviewed Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

I love infographics! Times have changed surely now that predictions can sort of be ‘measured’ by number of tweets
The Artist FTW!
I’m surprised that Midnight in Paris is leading the pack in popularity. But I will be glad that The Artist wins it all!
I’d love to see an upset. As long as the film isn’t Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close isn’t the surprise winner.
I think we are still all scratching our head at that nomination.
Interesting statistics. And it looks like Extremely loud is once again close to that 5% cutoff in the People’s Champion race. Hahaha.
Ahaha yea… There is undeserving and then there is “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close”
Great and very true. I guess now everybody thinks The Artist would win the majors. Midnight In Paris seemed to be so popular.
Cool graph. I didn’t realize Midnight in Paris was so popular.
