Watch: Peter Parker Wants to Murder Annoying Doorman in First Viral Clip From ‘Amazing Spider-Man’
Or is it just me? Sony Pictures has released the first official clip of The Amazing Spider-Man and it ties in well with a moment in the theatrical trailer when Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) tells Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) that he just climbed the fire escape rather than deal with the “intimidating” doorman.
If the clip is indicative of Marc Webb’s movie, we should see a much more natural approach to the light-hearted moments than in Sam Raimi’s movies which were notorious for being intentionally over-the-top and cheesy. Who can forget emo Peter Parker and his ridiculous dancing moves in Spider-Man 3, right?
Watch the clip (via CBM) below and let us know what you think! The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters in 3D on July 3rd, 2012.
One of the world’s most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in The Amazing Spider-Man. Focusing on an untold story that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story, the new film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the film in association with Marvel Entertainment for Columbia Pictures, which will open in theaters everywhere in 3D on July 3, 2012.
The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

I’ve never been a big Spiderman fan but for some reason I’m HUGELY excited about this one.
Yea they’ve done a pretty good job of getting people excited for this. I wasn’t anticipating this until I saw the recent trailer.
Glad to hear that Cas. As you know I’m anticipating this because of the cast, and very hopeful about Marc Webb because I LOVE (500) Days of Summer.
Cool! Another RESCUE ME alumni in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN! We got good ol’ Tommy Gavin (Denis Leary) and now the actor who portrayed Lou as the “intimidating” doorman. Very nice, Mr. Webb. That said, I just wanna see this movie already!
Maybe this is a Rescue episode masquerading as a Spider-Man movie
The first 2 spiderman movies didn’t seem all that cheesy to me…or perhaps that was just me. Anyways, i wondering what the first trailer was all about…cause it made it seem a whole lot darker, but now it seems to be presenting itself as more lighthearted. It makes me worried it might have a inconsistent tone.
Or maybe i just don’t see the point of this one reboot yet
Yea the tone is definitely a bit of a question mark. I guess we shall see.
Umm… that was a fail. Beats me what they are seeing in this scene that would make it worthy of being used to market the movie…
Ahaha Justin, yea not sure why they used this scene as their “first official clip”…
Nothing to really get worked over…
