Watch: UK Trailer for Kevin Macdonald’s Bob Marley Documentary

As he remains by far the most widely known and revered Reggae singer to this day, it’s difficult to grasp the enormous legacy and influence Bob Marley has left since his untimely death in 1981. Kevin Macdonald’s documentary Marley attempts to shed a comprehensive look into the life of the legendary cultural icon and it definitely looks like it’s worth the two hours and a half investment.

The film spent years in development and initially had Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs) set to direct before Last King of Scotland director Kevin Macdonald came on board. Marley played at TIFF as well as Berlinale and will screen at SXSW next month.

Marley will hit theaters in limited release on April 20th. Watch the UK trailer below (Vlicious) and let us know what you think!

Looks as cool as the man himself. Heard Kevin McD talk a bit about this at the London Film Fest. Sounded like a nightmare to make, getting all the rights and paying all the people who owned the rights to clips, music etc. Kevin McD makes amazing docs so definitely can’t wait for this!
