Jake Gyllenhaal Replaces Dominic Cooper in Revenge Thriller ‘Motor City’
Albert Hughes has found a new lead for his revenge thriller Motor City as Variety reports that Jake Gyllenhaal (Source Code) has come on board to replace Dominic Cooper who dropped out after his recent casting in Cities. The movie will center on a small-time felon who begins to hunt down the people who framed him after he is released from prison. Sounds like a bad Nic Cage movie right?
Here is the twist: the protagonist only speaks one line of dialogue in the entire movie. Written by Chad St. John, the 2009 Black List script received quite a lot of acclaim so there is hope that it’s going to be something out of the ordinary. Amber Heard is already attached to play the female love interest (what else?) while Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman will take on the role of a manipulative kingpin-type who may have his ways with Heard’s character.
It’s a pretty intriguing cast and add Jake Gyllenhaal who is undeniably more recognizable than Cooper, this could be something to keep an eye on. Production is set to begin next month.

I will have to see a trailer before getting excited for this
Yea. Not sure why the protagonist speaking only one line of dialogue would make this any different.
Gyllenhaal is a considerably superior actor so… yeah, good news!
Yea I prefer Gyllenhaal to Cooper as well
i like this. jake is sometimes hit or miss for me, so i hope this works out
I liked the last couple movies I saw of him. Brothers and Source Code, he is a solid actor.
Interesting premise. The addition of Jake has made me more interested in finding out more about this. A bit more in there for me to look forward to.
