Watch: First Trailer for ‘House At The End Of The Street’ with Jennifer Lawrence

Relativity has debuted the first trailer for horror flick House at the End of the Street, starring Jennifer Lawrence. With the phenomenal success of The Hunger Games this past weekend, marketing this movie has suddenly become a lot easier.

The story revolves around a young woman (Lawrence) who moves with her mother (Elizabeth Shue) to their dream house in a rural community only to discover that the house next door was the location of a grizzly murder years before. A daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared – leaving only a brother, Ryan (Max Thieriot, My Soul to Take), as the sole survivor.

The trailer is quite peculiar in that it plays the events of the story in reverse order. However, the question is whether the movie has the same chronological structure (like Memento) which would suddenly make House at the End of the Street a lot more intriguing.

Watch the trailer below (via MTV) and let us know what you think! House at the End of the Street opens September 21st.

Seeking a fresh start, newly divorced Sarah (Oscar®-nominee Elisabeth Shue; Leaving Las Vegas, Piranha 3D) and her daughter Elissa (Oscar®-nominee Jennifer Lawrence; X-Men: First Class, Winter’s Bone) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret. Years earlier, in the house next door, a daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared – leaving only a brother, Ryan (Max Thieriot, My Soul to Take), as the sole survivor. Against Sarah’s wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with the reclusive Ryan – and the closer they get, the deeper they’re all pulled into a mystery more dangerous than they ever imagined.

  1. I think it has potential.I am intrigued

  2. Nikhat says:

This doesn’t look half-bad. Also Jennifer Lawrence is currently the queen of the world, so yaaay!

  3. Andrew says:

Poster’s godawful, but Silent House turned out to be an interesting experiment even if it wasn’t 100% successful, and this feels a lot like the same idea (as Lawrence and Olsen have some things in common in their career choices to date). I could be interested.

  4. Looks decent and Jennifer Lawrence is looking hot!

  5. ruth says:

This looks so darn creepy when I saw it in front of Hunger Games. Btw I didn’t know Elizabeth Shue is still acting, ahah.

  6. Ted S. says:

More hand held shaky cam, I can’t wait to see it. But seriously, the movie doesn’t look that interesting to me but Jennifer looks smoking hot in it though. My guess of the twist is the dude’s actually the killer and his “sister” is probably someone he made up.

    • Castor says:

That twist would be terrible and totally expected from a flick like this. But yea, I would almost watch this just for Jennifer Lawrence running around all sweaty and scared ;)

  7. Dave Enkosky says:

I really dig the trailer, at least.

  8. Pete says:

I’ll watch Lawrence in anything… for now!
