Must Watch: Awesome ‘Prometheus’ Viral Spot with Michael Fassbender
Fox’s marketing campaign for Ridley Scott’s sci-fi horror Prometheus continues to shine with a ridiculously awesome new viral video centering on the android David, played by Michael Fassbender. In the ad spot, David speaks of his origins at Weyland Industries and explains his purpose as such: “I can make your organization more efficient. I can carry out directives that my human counterparts may find distressing or unethical.”help humans perform tasks that may be “”distressing or unethical.”
Michael Fassbender is quite excellent in this amusing yet chilling video and this only makes me even more excited for the release of Prometheus on June 8th. This also ties in with the TED speech by Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce) in which he spoke of his dream of creating cybernetic entities. Take a look at the clip below and let us know what you think! I saw this earlier. It’s so creepy yet awesome. Something about him sitting between those flowers just gives me goosebumps. I am really looking forward to this. Hopefully it will release in India.
Oh I’m sure it will release in India Nikhat! It’s going to be a huge release after all
I just saw this on Pete’s blog. His expression is so creepy!! In any case, the marketing campaign for this movie is through the roof!
Yea they are really putting a new standard in terms of viral marketing. That’s awesome work from Fox
Indeed. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of this kind of marketing in the future.
How much for that robot? I will buy anything that looks like Michael Fassbender… as long as it has its legendary FassDong!!!!
Ahaha Steven giving “distressing or unethical” directives to his android would be X-rated.
Looks like Fassbender is a one man marketing crew for this film, he was also in that “commercial” where he came out of a plastic bag.
Let’s hope the film lives up the hype, Sir Scott needs a hit.
I haven’t seen that one Ted! You have a link for that?
LOL, it’s actually the beginning of this video, the made it look like a commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIzHh3uM8Ec
They released this one right after the full trailer came out.
Unfreaking believeable.
Every time they turn over a card, it’s a suited Ace.
I can’t believe how phenomenal this movie looks.
Well, I doubt this is actually part of the movie but the marketing certainly has been nothing short of phenomenal indeed!
Yeah, I know. I know.
Its just the marketing has been so awesome, you have to think the movie is too.
LOVE IT! Freaky and creepy but this betta be awesome (sure hope it is)
Imagine all this awesome marketing and then the movie has a 24% Rotten Tomatoes score LOL
I will personally fly to the UK and have words with Mr. Scott myself!
Whaaaaaaaaat? That was creepily awesome. Like, Michael Fassbender actually creeped me out for once, and that’s no mean feat.
I love the tone of his voice in this. So subtly robotic!
HAHA Brilliant this film and it’s marketing is amazing. I am loving these viral videos!
Yea those are great because they don’t really reveal anything about the movie itself. Compare that to Marvel releasing The Avengers online one clip at a time.
This is some eerie, unsettling stuff; Fassbender’s performance is phenomenal in just a short video, but that’s par for the course. The real kicker here is how he’s written. Tasks that humans might find distressing or unethical? Creepy. And that tear he sheds while admitting that he only understands emotions, and does not experience them, is extremely discomfiting.
Can’t wait. They’re making this look better and better.
Yea this is really well made for a viral video that’s not part of the movie. Very impressive marketing indeed.
Lets just nominate Fassbender for an Oscar right now.
He’s got my vote… If I had one.
Love it. Odd how he already seems so artificial. Man this film’s gonna rock!
Didn’t you know. The real Michael Fassbender is an android sent from the future. That explains everything including his creepy smile!
Great stuff. Could watch this all day.
