Must Watch: Final Trailer for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is Here
Warner Bros. has released the third trailer for Christopher Nolan’s conclusion to his Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises and it is the best look so far of what we are heading into. While an aura of mystery still clouds the film, we get to see tons of new footage that display the amount of mayhem Bane (Tom Hardy) will set upon Gotham City.
The trailer also points to what should be the most character-driven storyline of the trilogy, most particularly as far as Batman/Bruce Wayne is concerned. In any case, this has only reminded me how much I’m excited for this movie. Take a look at the new trailer below and let us know what you think!
The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20.
Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises” is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar(R) winner Christian Bale (“The Fighter”) again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Oscar(R) winner Marion Cotillard (“La Vie en Rose”), as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake. Returning to the main cast, Oscar(R) winner Michael Caine (“The Cider House Rules”) plays Alfred; Gary Oldman is Commissioner Gordon; and Oscar(R) winner Morgan Freeman (“Million Dollar Baby”) reprises the role of Lucius Fox. The screenplay is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster “The Dark Knight.” The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. The film is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.

I take it this is your answer to whether you are excited for Magic Mike?
NO.
Since Cas blew it on his guess, I’m going to take a stab in the dark and say What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Am I right?
I AM MORE EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE THAN I AM FOR MY NEXT FIVE BIRTHDAYS AND CHRISTMASES AND EASTERS AND WHATEVER OTHER NICE HOLIDAY THERE IS!!!!!!!!
This trailer has taken me back to this time two years ago when I was so excited for Inception. Which means I’ll probably be watching all of the trailers every day up until July 19th. I’M JUST SO EXCITED!!!!!!!
You don’t want to ruin it by watching the trailers so much ahah
But the question is: Are you excited for this movie?
I watched the Inception trailers every day leading up to the movie. I’m not joking. And I still loved it.
And no I’m not excited for this movie at all.
Yup. I am so there.
I know you needed lots of convincing… Oh and congrats on your newborn boy Rodney!!!
YES! Thanks for posting this! so can’t wait for this movie!
No prob T
…so many films to get excited about this year. Will they live up to expectation?
Yes of course!!! Just like Captain America, X-Men First Class, Green Lantern, The Green Hornet, Thor last year… Oh wait, what?… uh…
I wasn’t going to watch. But I did. Love it!
I’m sorry being the object of temptation that broke your steel resolution.
*speechles*
Look at how much JGL there is in there!
Picking up the torch from Commissioner Gordon!
That plane scene :O That bridge scene :O That Batplane scene :O
My excitement knows no bounds.
That Bane knows how to spread chaos!
Glad to see that there is still some quality blockbusters to come this summer!
Indeed. Step Up 4, Magic Mike and now this??!?! We are really spoiled.
I was going to wait until the Avengers midnight premiere to watch this, but then Batman Begins was on TV (which I had to watch), and I couldn’t wait any longer. Awesome trailer, though.
Your resolve is weak!
haha loving all THE COMMENTS!!!!! Looks truly epic!
Good trailer. Greater improvement on that first one.
Yea definitely. The first two were pretty mediocre IMO.
SERIOUS SUPERHERO MOVIE IS SERIOUS
I like that Nolan has taken a very non-traditional approach to the comic book mien by creating hyper-reality and making the film even more grim and dour than its source, but there’s something about this that reads as oppressively serious to me. I don’t think “serious” means “more valid”, but I don’t know that that’s really Nolan’s intent; more likely he’s just trying to satisfy the formula that the studio knows works. In the end, it’s something I can get around, but I really don’t want this to end up being overly intensely somber.
But this has a lot of legwork to do if it’s going to beat The Avengers.
I’m with Andrew that this looks overly self-important and dramatic. Hopefully, the movie will let off some steam with some humor here and there or it could be too stuffy.
If it just cuts loose during the action/FX sequences, I think it’ll go a long way toward cutting down on its (apparent) stuffiness. I haven’t seen the movie, of course, so I have no idea if that’s just perception or if I’m actually onto something here.
I don’t think this is aimed at the same family demographic as the Avengers. Not that there is anything wrong with that, and I can’t wait to see it.
…just as soon as I’ve got Prometheus out of my system I can start thinking about this one but right now it is all about the alien!
