Rooney Mara In; Carey Mulligan Out from Spike Jonze’s Untitled Project
Some cast shuffling is still taking place director Spike Jonze is getting ready to start shooting his Untitled Project starring Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, and Samantha Morton. Variety reports that Carey Mulligan has dropped out from the production due to scheduling conflicts. Not to worry as another hot actress in Rooney Mara is in final negotiations to replace her.
No details on the role she will take on but we have learned a bit more about the premise of the story although it seems as enigmatic as ever. Previous description of the satirical story revolved around a gathering of world leaders to discuss “cataclysmic events”, but Variety mentions this time the story centers on a man who falls in love with the voice of a computer.
Anyone who has seen Jonze’s previous work such as 2009′s Where the Wild Things Are realize that the filmmaker does go for some totally offbeat elements in his films so let’s keep that in mind. In any case, this is another impressive addition to Mara’s slate which already has her in line to shoot a Terrence Malick movie later this year (formerly known as Lawless). The actress is currently filming Steven Soderbergh’s Bitter Pill with Channing Tatum and Jude Law.

Too bad Mulligan couldn’t be in the movie but you are right, Castor, Mara is a fine replacement. The mystery is what is this movie about?
Who knows? The logline is just as enigmatic as pure speculation
Sounds intriguing. Shame Mulligan’s out but I’ll be interested to see Jonze’s work no matter who is in it!
Yea I really like Mulligan but Mara is a fine replacement so no worries there.
Sucks that Carey Mulligan is out but Rooney Mara… that’s still a win. I would much prefer to have both ladies in the same film.
Ahahaa indeed… Maybe an idea for one of your scripts
