Six EW Images from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’
Last night, we brought you the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s annual summer preview featuring Batman and Catwoman from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. And as you would expect, we now have a look at the pictures inside the magazine’s latest issue.
Some of the shots are actually brand new with the devious Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) apparently wasting her time to steal an empty safe and Bane (Tom Hardy) taking over the Gotham Stock Exchange. I’m going to continue making myself unpopular in the Batman realm, but man, I really do not like how busy and textured the Catwoman and Batman costumes are. Her ears look slightly ridiculous, too, but at least they appear to be functional instead of ornamental. I’ve heard it said that the texturing looks better on film; this may well be the case, but we won’t know how these play until The Dark Knight Rises hits.
I do like the Bane image; something about him tearing through the financial sector appeals to me, and definitely helps reinforce the Occupy vibes that resonate throughout the trailer.
The fervor in the trailers does lend one the impression that the social structure in Gotham will tumble. I just hope FOX News won’t blow the storyline out of proportion and turn it into, “Batman hates rich people. Boycott!”
But here is the catch a lot of people seem to miss… Bruce Wayne/Batman is the 1% and if everything goes according to the title, well he wins over the 99% LOL
I’ll echo Andrew a tad and say I’m not too sure I’m digging the catwoman look. It just kind of seems too Batman the TV series to me and seems out of place in the Nolan-verse version of the caped crusader. I’ll give Nolan my bucks till he proves me wrong though.
True but Nolan didn’t want to make her sexy. I don’t really see her (as is) as out of place given that Bruce Wayne is dressed very much in the same way ah!
