Anne Hathaway in Talks to Produce and Star in Indie Drama ‘Song One’

Briefly: Anne Hathaway is going bald isn’t known for her ability to carry a tune as of yet but if you have watched the trailer for Les Miserables we posted yesterday, you know it won’t be for long. Variety reports that the actress is in talks to produce and star in Song One, an indie drama in which she would play a young woman who returns home after her brother is injured and becomes romantically involved with his favorite musician, who draws inspiration from the siblings.

No detail on whether Hathaway would actually have to sing in the movie and wouldn’t it be a cruel waste of talent after all? At any rate, the project would reunite with her Rachel Getting Married producers Marc Platt and Jonathan Demme. Hathaway will next be seen in the summer’s biggest blockbuster, The Dark Knight Rises and then later this year in Tom Hooper’s musical Les Miserables.

What do you think?

Oh I think she can sing very well, she hasn’t impressed me too much as an actress but hey, she still has a long career ahead of her.

  2. Well, at least she’s taking some risks as an actress and showing her chops as a vocalist. I just hope it’s good.

  3. sounds boring. and she is not a draw to me

  4. Dave Enkosky says:

This doesn’t really interest me. If Demme directed, maybe. But that probably won’t be the case.

  5. Andina says:

I hope it’s not another ‘One Day’ and ‘Love and Other Drugs’

  6. Scott Lawlor says:

I honestly think Hathaway is going to be massive. She is going to do a Gosling on us!!

This movie looks interesting, even though I’m not a huge Anne Hathaway fan. My favorite indie actress is definitely Parker Posey. She has a new movie coming out on DVD on June 19th called The Love Guide. It looks awesome so everyone should check it out!!
