Garrett Hedlund, Amy Adams, Richard Jenkins & Terrence Howard to Star in Dramedy ‘Lullaby’

Quite the cast is being assembled for Andrew Levitas directorial debut Lullaby, a drama/comedy that centers around a  man who discovers that his dying father has chosen to take himself off his life support machine in the next 48 hours. What ensues is described as “an unexpected journey of love, laughter and forgiveness” as the young man reunites with his estranged family.

Garrett Hedlund will star with Richard Jenkins set to play the father. We also have word that Amy Adams, Terrence Howard, Jessica Brown-Findlay (Downton Abbey) and Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) will be part of the cast. While the premise certainly sounds like it could be a tad overly melodramatic, one can’t deny that this is quite a nice group of supporting actors.

Nonetheless, Hedlund still remains unproven as a leading man and the next year or so is going to be crucial for his career. He is set to topline Walter Salles much anticipated On The Road and he will also appear in the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis. Production is set to begin in June in New York City.

I don’t know about this. It feels like her typical supporting actress oscar bait part. I’d wish she would go for more gutsy parts than this.

Dammit I thought this was going to be an adaptation of the Palahniuk novel. Oh well, nice cast.
