Seven Character Posters for John Hillcoat’s ‘Lawless’
The Weinstein Company has released seven exciting character posters for John Hillcoat’s prohibition-era film Lawless. Take a look at the cast getting ready for some retribution below. I most particularly like the one with Shia Labeouf posing with his two revolvers. He must have thought he was starring in a Menace II Society remake.
Based on the novel The Wettest County in the World, Lawless revolves around three brothers who become bootleggers in the South during the Prohibition. As business is booming, it attracts the attention of the local authorities who soon want a piece of the proverbial pie.
Lawless will open nationwide on August 31st.

Shia trying look all gangsta… he’s a wanksta!
Straight from da hood, he is going to whack some unsuspecting dawgie dawgs!
Is that a photo of Shia trying to play gangster? Seriously, it looks like a stupid teen’s Facebook photo! And who photoshopped Gary Oldman’s face on that body – terrible job! Tom Hardy’s poster is the only half decent one out of this bunch!
Jaina for the head movie poster design job at TWC!
Awful posters…
Now, if only Shia was holding two samurai swords, these would be awesome!
Shia’s playing dress up.
I was hoping they’d be super cool, but they’re just a bit.. well, crappy. Shia especially! Gary Oldman doesn’t look too hot either, especially in comparison to his amazing character poster for Tinker Tailor Solider Spy
Yea that Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy poster was great!
Posters may not be great, but I’m definitely looking forward to the film.
