2012 LAMMY Nominations Announced!
Once again, it’s that time of the year when everybody gets together and announces that Anomalous Material is the best and most awesome website that they’ve ever visited. It truly is an honor, people.
Joking aside, the members of the LAMB have spoken and the annual LAMMY nominations have been announced. For those of you that have no idea what I’m talking about, the LAMB (Large Association of Movie Blogs) is a conglomerate of movie blogs, with the total number of members surpassing 1200 this year. Every year, the members of the LAMB are asked to nominate other blogs for a number of awards, which are then later voted on for a single winner. The nominees were announced on the LAMBcast earlier this week, which is always worth a listen. Our good friend Sam Fragoso has also put together a list of all the nominees.
This year, Anomalous Material has been nominated for three awards. “Best Community ‘Whatever’”, which awards a blog for creating an atmosphere that urges community discussion. Secondly, we were nominated for “Most Prolific”, which essentially says that we make a lot of posts and people aren’t sure if we’re crazy or nuts. And lastly, we were also nominated for “Best Blog”, which is pretty self explanatory.
If we win, we demand that Marion Cotillard accepts on our behalf.
We’d like to thank everybody for nominating us and for the support that we continually receive. It’s always a goal around here to post intriguing articles that generate discussion amongst our readers, and without you guys, this literally couldn’t be possible.
Voting for the LAMMYs has not yet started, but we will be sure to give you a heads up when it does. Once again, thank you everybody and good luck to all the nominees!

Congrats Castor. I am shocked that Anomalous Material only got three noms, I know I wrote the site down in far more categories than that. Regardless, keep up the excellent work!

I blame Castor for not attempting to win anything. Too laissez-faire about it!
But seriously, I think a lot of it comes down to a) tons of blogs/more competition and b) when a site does so much well like AM does, I think people tend to take what’s great about it for granted in certain cases.
So, Joel – are you just gonna change the title of that award to “Best Community…Whatever?”

Yeah, I remember the good ol’ days of receiving 8 nominations, and that was in our first year.
But there are just so many great blogs that are a part of the Lamb, awards are gonna be a bit spread out. (I say that, and somebody is gonna win over half the awards).

We did, but it’s for the best. We decided that if somebody voted against my French Goddess, that it would be bad for their health.
