Emma Watson Joins Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’

Noah

Emma Watson is putting together quite the resume post-Harry Potter as Deadline now reports that the actress is in talks to join the cast of Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky’s Noah. You may be familiar with the story of Noah’s Ark. In the book of Genesis, God wants to punish mankind for its wickedness but chooses one man, Noah to build an ark and preserve his creation. When Noah completes the ark and is safe and sound on board along with his family and the world’s animals, God sends the Great Flood that wipes out the rest of humanity.

The Biblical epic will star Russell Crowe as the eponymous character with Douglas Booth and Logan Lerman set to play two of Noah’s sons. Watson will take on the role of a young woman who begins a close relationship with Booth’s character. Meanwhile, Jennifer Connelly is said to be in contention for the role of Noah’s wife.

It’s certainly an exciting development for the young actress who is staying busy this year, having recently wrapped shooting for Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring. We know she will appear in Seth Rogen’s directorial debut The End of the World and we also recently posted a trailer for The Perks of Being a Wallflower in which she stars alongside Logan Lerman.

Noah is set to release on March 28th, 2014. Production will begin this summer in New York and Iceland.

  4. She’s moving on up. Doing a Sofia Coppola film and now a Darren Aronfsky film. She’s building up some serious cred.

  5. Pete says:

I thought she was pretty bad in the HP films and even worse in My week with Marilyn but casting directors must know what they are doing so I guess I’m missing something.

    • Castor says:

I thought she was coming into her own in the last 3 HP movies but yea, she was pretty terrible for a while. Haven’t seen anything else with her so I can’t really judge.

  6. sati says:

She’s really choosing great projects, hope her career blossoms into something wonderful.
