Watch: Full Trailer for ‘The Bourne Legacy’

Universal has debuted a full trailer for Tony Gilroy’s The Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz. The film promise more high octane chases and ass-kicking stunts as Aaron Cross (Renner) attempts to escape from a government task force which is shutting down the entire Treadstone program by assassinating all its “assets”.

It’s great to see that the movie won’t be a Bourne movie only in name and that it will tie-in nicely with the previous movies by running concurrently with the events of The Bourne Ultimatum. It looks like Renner and Weisz will be quite excellent as the leads and it looks very promising so far.

The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films.

For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.

  2. This looks pretty badass. I might want to see this.

I like the cast. I like the trailer. It looks promising.

Promising indeed. Let’s hope it’s more than your average chase thriller though (ie. there is more to the characters than them just running around)

  4. Pete says:

Loving the look of this. Could be best Bourne yet?

  5. Jaina says:

Looks promising, but I am a hardcore fan of the previous Bourne films and this still comes across a little bit like your average action thriller.

Though, not to say I’m not getting excited. Renner looks great, finally get to see what Rachel Weisz is doing in the film. I’m slowly boarding the bandwagon.

  6. MarkusWelby1 says:

yep it’s looking decent I’d have to say. although Renner just isn’t as pretty as MATT DAMON. (just pretend it’s the Team America guys typing that and you’ll get the effect)

The story looks pretty interesting in it integration of the legend which is Bourne. I am still not 100% convinced by Jeremy Renner, but I like the rest of the cast, so I will probably catch this.

Ok, after seeing the trailer 3 times, the last one being on the big screen, I’m a bit more intrigued despite my feelings for Renner. I know my hubby’s excited for this so I told him I’d go see this on the big screen if he goes to see ONE Gerry Butler movie with me in the theaters this year. Fair bargain IMO :D

  9. Kristin says:

I’m actually really stoked for this film. I’ve somehow fallen under the spell of Jeremy Renner and am loving him in everything lately. I can’t wait to see this – it definitely looks like a nice tie-in, and I think Bourne LEGACY is a very appropriate title for the film.

  10. Andrew says:

I think this could easily live up to the Greengrass/Damon legacy established in the last two films; Renner’s a great leading man for a film like this. Looks solid.

  11. Dan says:

Having now seen the trailer in the cinema I’m even more interested in seeing how this turns out. It could be very good!
