Darren Aronofsky To Film Ark For “Noah” By Actually Building Ark
Apparently learning nothing from legendary movie madman Werner Herzog who in 1982 helmed a tortured production, Fitzcarraldo, about a man who drags a steamship through the South American jungle by filming an ACTUAL steamship being dragged through the South American jungle, Darren Aronofsky has chosen to make a film about the man who built an ark, Noah, by building an ACTUAL ark. This can only end well. No word yet on whether or not Aronofsky plans to unleash a man-made rain for 40 days and 40 nights to properly re-create the great flood.
In other news, my “sources” indicate James Cameron, the man who once built a replica of the Titanic, was so impressed and simultaneously peeved at Aronofsky’s clearly hubristic attempt to one-up him, he announced plans to make a film about Pangea by actually reconstructing Pangea. No word yet on when, where or how he plans to do this, but I’m not betting against him.
ARE YOU EXCITED FOR “NOAH”? ARE YOU FREAKED OUT BY THE HUBRIS?

I can almost see Darren and Russel Crowe standing in the field summoning rain
This project just keeps getting more and more interesting
Damn, that’s awesome.
That is cool though I hope Aronofsky won’t have the same issues he had with The Fountain.
That’s the way epics should be made.
