First Look at Naomi Watts as Lady Diana in ‘Caught in Flight’ [Updated]

We have a first look at Naomi Watts as Princess Diana from the set of Oliver Hirschbeigel‘s Caught in Flight. The actress snapped the role after Jessica Chastain dropped out earlier this year. As we previously reported, the movie will center on Diana’s two-year affair with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Kahn who was regarded by many to be “the love of her life”. The relationship, which took place between 1995 until a few months before her death in 1997, was so serious that the late princess was considering converting to Islam. The film is described as a “love story between a princess locked in a tower and an ordinary man.”
The film will likely draw controversy even though fifteen years have gone by since Diana’s death. At any rate, Watts is an excellent choice for the role and as seen in the pic below, has the look down pat. Let us know what you think!

Yea the biopics are really getting uninspiring these days… But who knows, maybe this one will be worth a watch!

I’m still sad that Jessica had to pull out, but Watts certainly does look the part.

it’s like seeing a ghost. LOL The hair is pitch-perfect, and up until you reach Watts nose, it really does feel like Diana. xD
Anyway, the project is a bit ‘yellow-press’ but I guess I am game.
Holy shit the Daily Express newspaper is going to have a fit! No one will ever be good enough to play their beloved princess!

Indeed. Meryl Streep getting an Oscar last year for the mediocre The Iron Lady certainly won’t help the cause.
Is it just me who thinks that she doesn’t look like Diana…in fact a bit like someone who had gone through a plastic surgery to try looking like Lady Di.

The other photo looks better but lacks of Lady Di’s elegant.
I am not Lady Di fans but I admit she was one of the most elegant woman in the world.
She looks just like her, but should be a bit skinnier! Great make-up job.

Ahah yeah, Diana was actually NOT rail thin, which is what I love about her. I mean she’s tall but not rail thin. Naomi on the other hand, could stand a few burgers on her!

I think Naomi looks the part tho the real Diana is still far more stunning IMO.
