Watch: First Trailer for Brian de Palma’s ‘Passion’ with Rachel McAdams & Noomi Rapace
The first trailer for Brian De Palma‘s erotic thriller Passion has been released ahead of the film’s premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next month. The film centers on a cunning corporate executive (Rachel McAdams) who delights in toying with her innocent and easily exploited assistant (Noomi Rapace). But when the two get caught in a love triangle, full blown war breaks out.
The trailer is barely over a minute but it manages to convey the heavy dose of sexual tension between the two actresses as well as the somewhat campy feel of the movie. McAdams, in particular, seems to be having a lot of fun with her ruthless character and it’s nice to see her playing something different from her usual, idealized romantic sweetheart.
No US release date yet but we will keep you updated. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!

I haven’t seen the original but this has de Palma in grand style. I wanna see this no matter how good or bad it is.
Let’s hope it’s good then
Oh hell yeah.
That .gif is hilariously mesmerizing.
Looks like a good, educational lesson in lesbionics.
I’m going to endeavor to get more into De Palma just because the guy is legend, but this is an exciting looking film regardless of my lack of familiarity.
Same boat Andrew. I’m not really familiar with his movies outside of his more blockbuster-y movies like The Untouchables, Scarface and Mission Impossible.
I turned to the readers at Badass Digest for some recommendations on where to start with my De Palma education, and wound up adding Dressed to Kill, Sisters, Obsession, Blow Out, and Raising Cain to my Netflix queue right away. I’ve got my work cut out for me.
Hi, Castor and company:
Shades of ‘Dressed to Kill’!
With masks and a large dash of lesbianism (A recent favorite topic for De Palma: “Femme Fatale’, ‘The Black Dahlia’) thrown in.
Might prove interesting.
Glad this intrigued you. LEt’s hope De Palma returns to form here after his little break.
Just saw Love Crime, and De Palam definitely…umm upped the lesbian vibes. And added masks
Not that there is anything wrong with that
I hope this is at LFF this year, would love to see it… for all the right reasons obviously
