Will Ferrell & Steve Carell to Team Up for Justin Theroux Comedy ‘Swear to God’
Since 2004′s Anchorman, Will Ferrell and Steve Carell have become two of Hollywood’s biggest stars and yet, the two haven’t starred in the same film since. It looks like this is about to change as Deadline reports that Ferrell and Carell will star in the Warner Bros. comedy Swear to God.
The film will center on a narcissistic hedge fund manager (Ferrell) who believes he has seen God. No word yet on what role Carell will take on. We do know the project stalled since WB acquired it last summer as Adam McKay was in line to produce and direct the film but he obviously had to jump ship once the Anchorman sequel began to pick up momentum earlier this year.
But the issue is apparently solved as the studio has set the surprising Justin Theroux to helm Swear to God. The filmmaker, who previously wrote the script for Tropic Thunder and Iron Man 2 will rework the script from Due Date writers Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland to his liking.
Production is tentatively set to begin next summer once Anchorman 2 wraps up.
What do you think?

Nice piece of casting!
Yes. The two of them together is exciting.
I really give up. I think some of Ferrell’s films will be horrible, but then I end up liking them anyway. I recently watched “Semi-Pro” and I laughed a lot. The guy has the skills to make me chuckle. So, yeah, I’m probably going to see it.
Then… What do you mean by giving up?
