Natalie Portman May Play Jackie Kennedy in Biopic ‘Jackie’
Years ago, Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky was developing a biopic of former first lady Jackie Kennedy with his then-wife Rachel Weisz set to star. The appropriately titled Jackie fell on the wayside when the two separated but it looks like Fox Searchlight is looking to revive the project.
Deadline reports that the studio has sent Natalie Portman (Black Swan) the Noah Oppenheim script and that she is keen on taking the role depending on who will helm the film. The story would take place in the immediate aftermath of the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy.
It certainly sounds like a challenging role and it will be interesting to see who Fox can attract to direct the picture. Meanwhile, Portman is will keep busy starring opposite Michael Fassbender in director Lynne Ramsay’s western Jane Got a Gun.
What do you think?

They don’t look hardly alike but at the same time I could see Portman playing Jackie. There sure is a plethora of biopics on the Kennedys but it’s interesting that this one will be focused on her instead of her former husband.
Yea… I guess the biopic overload is getting a bit old. I don’t know if I’m really interested in a Jackie Kennedy biopic, no matter who is involved.
I think a director like Aronofsky at the helm could possibly get me excited for this.
Also, Portman sure is keeping herself busy
I doubt he would rejoin the project after dropping out of it but weirder things have happened I guess.
Well, she certainly bears a resemblance.
I don’t see it…
While I am tired of seeing biopics get stuffed down the pipeline, I rarely get sick of seeing Portman act. Double-edged sword right there.
