Watch: Emotional Clips From Sundance Hit ‘Smashed’ with Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Aaron Paul
One of my most anticipated movie of the fall is James Pondsoldt’s addiction drama Smashed and while we are still waiting for a trailer from the movie, Sony Classics has released some terrific new clips that showcase Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s excellent work.
The film centers on a young couple (Winstead & Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul) struggling to break free from alcohol dependency. Their relationship is put to the test when she decides to get sober once and for all.
The highlight of these short clips is the first one below, as Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s character attends her first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. While she isn’t even sure whether she is an alcoholic, she yearns for the days when she could drink one beer and not wake up hungover, realizing she downed twenty. It’s quite emotionally resonant and a truly exciting glimpse of what the movie has to offer.
Check out the clips below and let us know what you think! Smashed opens on October 12th.

Ah, now I know what Smashed is that you talked about on my post. You’re very fond of miss Mary Elizabeth Winstead aren’t you?
Maybe you should check out Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter then, if you don’t mind her in period costume, Castor.
Nah, no interest in Lincoln Vampire Hunter. Looks pretty terrible
I’m seeing this Thursday!
Looking forward to your take on this, Paolo!
