Watch: Enticing New Trailer for ‘Cloud Atlas’
Warner Bros. has debuted a new trailer for The Wachowskis’ and Tom Tykwer’s Cloud Atlas. The film is an adaptation of David Mitchell novel and stars the likes of Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, and Jim Sturgess among others.
The movie explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.
Given the structural and narrative complexity of the novel, most filmmakers would deem Cloud Atlas unfilmable but it looks like Lana and Andy Wachowski as well as Tom Tykwer have managed to do the impossible. It looks incredibly ambitious and the scope of the movie is breathtakingly massive. I really hope this is as enticing as it looks because this could be unlike anything we’ve seen in recent memory.

Wow, that is visually stunning. I’m not a huge fan of the Wachowski’s but I do really like Tykwer.
This will either be a towering achievement or a miserable failure. Either way, it’ll look pretty, of course, and no matter what I’ll end up seeing it.
Reviews have been mixed out of TIFF. I guess that’s not surprising given the huge challenge of adapting this book.

I don’t know whether this is going to be good or not…but I’ll watch it for the actors alone. There are many actors I like in the movie

Wow this film looks big – I mean really BIG. You have to admire the moxy. I have just gotten around to watching the trailers for this one – but I guess we will have to wait and see.
