Watch: Intriguing Trailer for ‘Now You See Me’ with Jesse Eisenberg & Mark Ruffalo
Lionsgate has debuted an intriguing first trailer for Louis Letterier’s heist thriller Now You See Me. The film centers on a team of magicians who perform elaborate heists and then share their profits with their audience, setting the FBI on their tails.
An impressive ensemble cast was assembled for this team with Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Melanie Laurent, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine. While this looks a lot more mindless than something like Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige, it certainly has the potential to be a lot of fun.
Watch for yourself below (via Yahoo!) and let us know what you think! Now You See Me opens on June 7, 2013.
The Four Horsemen, a magic super-group led by the charismatic ATLAS (Jesse Eisenberg), perform a pair of high-tech magic shows, first astonishing audiences by robbing a bank on another continent, and then exposing a white-collar criminal and funneling his millions into the audience members’ bank accounts.
FBI Special Agent DYLAN (Mark Ruffalo) is determined to make the magicians pay for their crimes—and to stop them before they pull off what promises to be an even more audacious heist. But he’s forced to partner with ALMA (Melanie Laurent), an Interpol detective about whom he is instantly suspicious. Out of desperation he turns to THADDEUS (Morgan Freeman), a famed magic debunker, who claims the bank heist was accomplished using disguises and video trickery. One thing Dylan and Alma agree on is that the Horsemen must have an outside point person, and that finding him (or her) is key to ending the magicians’ crime spree. Could it be Thaddeus? Or Alma? Or could it really be…magic?
As pressure mounts and the world awaits the Horsemen’s spectacular final trick, Dylan and Alma race to find an answer. But it soon becomes painfully clear that staying one step ahead of these masters of illusion is beyond the skills of any one man—or woman.

This has an interesting premise but Louis Letterier doesn’t bring me a lot of confidence.
Agree! For everything going for this film, having Letterier at the helm makes me a lot less optimistic.
But he made the first two Transporter movies! And Clash of the Titans. What are you talking about??!?!?!?
It can be end up being really good or really stupid. Brilliant cast though.
Hopefully the former then
I think it’s going to be average, pretty much like everything else ahah
That’s a pretty cool concept.
It seemed kind of cool, until everything get’s all Michael Bay-ish at the end. And come on! Casting Michael Caine in a movie about magicians, but having Morgan Freeman talking about magic-tricks and the art of them, is such a major cop-out of The Prestige. Huge ensemble, though.
Looks interesting. Good to see Jesse Eisenberg with his head back in the game.
Why do you say that? Where was his head?
I am definitely interested in this. I want it to be good. I hope it’s good. But it may not be good. There are too many question marks. Cast is definitely not one of them, and I am always a sucker for films about magic and heist films. This seems like a really good role for Eisenberg.
