Joel Edgerton Joins Natalie Portman & Michael Fassbender in Western ‘Jane Got a Gun’
As if Lynne Ramsey’s (We Need to Talk About Kevin) western Jane Got a Gun wasn’t exciting due to Natalie Portman, Michael Fassbender and Ramsey’s involvement, another talented actor has joined the highly anticipated project. Deadline reports that Joel Edgerton (Warrior) is in talks to co-star in the film which is set to begin production in February.
Portman would star as the titular character, Jane Hammond, a young woman married to an outlaw gunslinger. When her husband turns against his gang, he returns home severely wounded with eight bullets in his back. Knowing that the gang will soon return to finish the job, Jane must team up with her old flame (Michael Fassbender) for survival.
Edgerton would take on the role of Bill Hammond, Jane’s wounded husband. The Aussie actor had made a name for himself with memorable roles in movies such as Animal Kingdom and Warrior. He will next be seen in Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty.

Solid cast and I’m definitely a fan of Ramsay after catching We Need to Talk About Kevin. Happy to see Edgerton getting more work– I loved watching him in Animal Kingdom 2 years ago.
Come to think of it a number of people from that film are getting more and more work these days.
