Must Watch: First Trailer for ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ with Ryan Gosling
One of the most promising film coming out next year is the epic crime drama The Place Beyond the Pines and we have the first trailer below. Directed by Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine), the movie stars Ryan Gosling as a single father who turns to bank robbery to support his son. But when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer (Bradley Cooper), their violent confrontation turns into a tense generational feud that spans decades.
Blue Valentine has been one of the most memorable films of the past few years to me and I can’t wait to see what Cianfrance has in store this time around. The fact that Gosling and Cooper co-star in what look to be two truly substantial lead roles is cherry on the pie. Add to that, reviews have been stellar out of the Toronto Film Festival last summer and this looks to be a heavy hitter next spring.
Watch the trailer below (via Yahoo!). The Place Beyond the Pines opens March 29, 2013.

This trailer needs more Ryan Gosling.
It’s a two-hander movie
I will definitely see this.
Oh my God, this looks unbearably good. I so can’t wait.
Hi Castor, I’m back!
Well, I don’t really care for Gosling nor Cooper so this is more of a rental for me.
Looks like Blue Valentine and Drive mashed together, which is to say it looks like a solid movie mashed together with a great movie. That’s a good enough endorsement that I want to see it, but I hope it manages to establish its own identity outside of its very clear, very obvious influences.
Certainly looking forward to checking this out. Hell I would watch pretty much anything with Gosling in it at this point.
