Watch: First Trailer for Terrence Malick’s ‘To The Wonder’ [HD]
Magnolia has debuted the first trailer for Terrence Malick‘s new film, To The Wonder. The romantic drama centers on a man (Ben Affleck) who, feeling at loose ends, travels to Paris, and enters a hot-and-heavy affair with a European woman (Olga Kurylenko). He soon returns home to Oklahoma, where he marries her only to find out the relationship is on the rocks. He winds up rekindling a romance with a hometown girl (Rachel McAdams) with whom he’s had a long history.
The trailer is about as Malick-y as you could expect, almost to the point of derision and it reminds a lot of the one for The Tree of Life. Lots of pretty landscape, lots of twirling around in the wind and serious stares into the distance. The movie premiered earlier this year in Venice and reviews have been quite mixed due to Malick’s enigmatic ways.
At any rate, check out the trailer for yourself below. To The Wonder is set to open on April 12, 2013.

If this film had officially came out this year, the cinematography race would be very different because no one can touch Chivo’s brilliance. I bow down to Terrence Malick.
Yea, nothing quite like this out there, is there…
Wow! It looks as beautiful as you can get with a Malick movie but with the apparent editing-out of Barry Pepper, Rachel Weisz, Jessica Chastian, Martin Sheen, and Amanda Peet, I’m still feeling a bit shaky about it all.
Well they all had minor parts and Malick is known to cut gazillions of miles of film for each of his movies…
I’m in! It’ll probably be the prettiest 3 hours I’ve ever wasted.
Actually I hear it’s a pretty short movie by Malick standards
This is movie is absolutely awful. Take my warning.
I’ve read a review or two. Some people absolutely loved it. A lot of people didn’t.
Looks beautiful, but the venomous early word has me cautious. Still gonna see it. It’s Malick. You can’t skip Malick.
Always some wise words, Andrew
Not really excited for this
