Watch: New Red Band Trailer for ‘Spring Breakers’
Universal has debuted a new trailer for director Harmony Korine’s upcoming film Spring Breakers and it looks about as unhinged and whacko as one could expect from a spring break movie. The film centers on a group of broke girls (Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine) who, with the help of a maniacal drug dealer (James Franco), go to disturbing length to experience a spring break they will never forget.
Despite the flashy trailers, I’m still not quite sure what to expect beyond the bikinis, guns and drugs. Is this a soulless exploitation movie with little or no purpose or is there more beyond the surface? Time will tell. Spring Breakers opens on March 22nd.

This one actually got some intriguing reviews after its Venice premiere last September.

…why am I thinking Project X when I think about this film. And we all know how that felt!

I haven’t seen all of Korines work, but from the films of his i have seen i doubt the film will be as conventional as the trailers make it seem to be.
Having seen 2 of Harmony Korine’s films in Gummo and Julien-Donkey Boy, I have no idea what we’ll be in store for. Maybe it will be something different from the rest of his work.
Oh my God, I so can’t wait for this.
I get the feeling that this is going to be gloriously terrible and that I will love it.
