Round 1

"I will have to go with Kevin Costner. The man is a solid actor, a fine director and Oscar Winner and all around humanitarian. His films have heart, an emotional weight, he understands how to handle a grand scope that borders on epic and more importantly tell a good story both behind the camera and in front of it. Open Range, Robin Hood, Fandango, The Guardian, Mr. Brooks, For Love of the Game, Silverado, Field of Dreams and of course Dances with Wolves!
He's dependable and a hardworking entertainer. However, did I pick him as an actor...or a director? Guess we'll find out as the draft goes...consider him a double threat."
Kevin Costner

Round 2

"Mark Strong - With a presence that is both enviable and intimidating, Strong is a true thespian and a damn fine professional. He commands the screen but can also cut it up as the depth of his range is absolutely incredible. Soft spoken but impacting, he can play both hero and villain like few else can. You put Strong in any cast and the film is taken up 10 notches."

Round 3

"Mélanie Laurent – Only seen her in Basterds but she’s got this this draw I can’t appropriately put into words. Her face hides inner turmoil, pain and hatred like I’ve rarely seen. The beauty is that she hides it so well and walks that line between predator and prey so very well. Pint sized but powerful; she is just a dynamo of talent. Should make a fitting addition to my film."

Round 4

"To helm this mighty Western my brain has been concocting, I want to go with Edward Zwick. With an eye for gorgeous visual and as someone who is more than capable with an epic, Zwick delivers both a solid story and action-fest to boot. His films are not only entertaining but have a weight and heart that make them impacting and memorable."

Round 5

"For the fifth round I chose Djimon Hounsou. It's rare that an actor can have an intensity/animosity, but then like a light switch flip to show a sensitivity. I've always been a huge fan and was glad to see him shine in Zwick's Blood Diamond. He has more talent than I think people realize and can equally shoulder a gruff bravado and a suave side at the exact same time. "

Round 6

"Val Kilmer has been making a spotty resurgence (thanks to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and MacGruber) and I think it's time he cut all ties to crappy straight to DVD titles (who is his role model anyway? Wesley Snipes) Kilmer's got incredible depth and untapped talent. Whether he shows it or not, he's still (aside from Johnny Depp) one of the best method actors around. Is his best work behind him? No, I think it's still ahead of him."

Round 7

"For the 7th Round, I chose Michelle Yeoh. As of late she's been known for token female martial artist roles but that's high time it changed. Her poise is what makes he compelling and I think she's capable of more than just high kicks. She can really dish out the hits but there's still a soft side under all that flashy and fierce fighting."
