MICHAEL

Round 1

I picked Sofia Coppola because, like her father, she can make a very personnal film about important issues of our society: Lost In Translation (our inhability to communicate), Marie-Antoinette (the emptiness of the world of plenty we live in), Virgin Suicides (teenager suicide). I know, I picked her over many great directors that haven't been chose yet: Werner Herzog, Jean-Luc Godard, David Cronenberg, etc. But, I have a very specific idea for my script and she is the perfect fit for it...
Besides, with Kathryn Bigelow winning the oscar for Best Director, woman director are in fashion!

Round 2

Jason Schwartzman is not the obvious choice but for my casting he is the perfect lead I needed. He demonstrated his talent in the off-beat comedies of Wes Anderson and he is now on the big screens in Scott Pilgrim vs The World. And my girlfrind thinks he’s good looking (that’s important).

Round 3

"From the cast of the teen oriented series Dawson’s Creek, who would have thought that it was gonna be Michelle Williams that would have been more recognized and casted? From Brokeback Mountain to Shutter Island and Wendy and Lucy Williams is a sure stable woman always giving top notch performances!"

Round 4

"Emmanuelle Chriqui:
I discovered her watching the show Entourage. She is beautiful, talented and I recently discover that was born 120 miles from me (I'm in Quebec City) and that she speaks french! Besides, she has this warm aura around her when she is on the screen. That's what I want from my actresses!"

Round 5

"Bill Murray
From his comedies in the 1980's to his more dramatic presences in the last years I think Murray can play a clown or a serious character."

Round 6

"I select Naomi Watts.
Mulholland Drive. Do I need to say more? I don’t think so."

Round 7

"Matthew Perry! Since I’ve seen him in Friends I knew I wanted to work with him. He has a way to deliver jokes like no else. I think he can be a very actor if taken seriously!"
